Dulac hasn’t exactly been super reliable, but let’s hope he’s got this one right. If it’s a high ankle sprain, it’ll be more like 4-6 weeks. Fingers crossed.

 

I wold say depends on if bones are fractured or ligaments are torn, requiring surgery.

3 weeks is best case scenario.

 

Praying it's not too bad, but all I know is that Khan now looks like a genius for that Preston Smith trade. It could end up being way more important than Mike Williams, and at the time I thought it was a throw away.

 

Even if it turns out to be 4 games, it's a fortunate turn of events. Herbig is coming back, but more importantly, Steelers have Preston Smith which IMO is the better big body replacement as Herbig is a liability in stopping the run.

 

Herbig is great on 3rd down. Preston on the others. Great fortune to make that deal last week.

those high ankle sprains are tough. coming back too early can be bad. they start feeling better and then boom. then it's a few more weeks.

No real timeline has been reported yet that I can find. If it is just 2 to 3 weeks really dodged a bullet there.

Dulac probably jumped the gun on the extent of Highsmith's injury, I haven't seen anybody else report on it yet. Tomlin will have the news at his press conference on Tuesday.

 

Totally makes Omar Khan's trade for Preston Smith a genius level move ... Plus the impending return of Nick "baby Watt" Herbig keeps us in a good place

 

Did Highsmith have his MRI yet? Maybe results are in, and they found something?

For that matter, anyone noticed how worse the Ravens look without Kyle Hamilton?! Imagine losing Minkah Fitzpatrick!!.... oh wait. I looked back at 2023 and teams enjoyed tearing apart Pittsburgh from the deep middle after Minkah got injured against Jacksonville.

 

On the related note of Highsmith, this just reinforces the idea that trading for EDGE Depth was the right idea after all. Even if Nick Herbig is back, one can never have too many EDGE Players; doubly so depth ones. Preston Smith is far removed from his glory days but he can still provide a good pass rush when needed.


He will oh most definitely will be needed come Sunday. Same goes for Nick.

 

Tomlin said Highsmith is week to week the injury doesn't sound like it's too severe.
