The Commanders had nine picks and gave up 3 picks to get Lattimore, the Steelers were never going to be in on this deal.

The Steelers couldn't trade a 6th because they are going to owe that pick to the Bears for the Fields trade, they have two 5th round picks in 2025.,

The Williams trade is kind of underwhelming I hope he has something left in the tank.

Rodgers threw Williams under the bus and said that he ran the wrong route on one of Rodgers interceptions that lost a game. But the real truth was that Williams was wide open and Rodgers badly under threw him.

But if they ain't going to trade him, they ain't going to trade him. Hell, CeeDee Lamb would have been a better get.

Just to clarify, the Jets get the lower of the Steelers two fifth round picks.

I wanted Jakobi Meyers as my #1 choice, and Slayton as my second choice. A fully healthy Williams is better than either, but just how far from fully healthy is he? That’s my concern.

Let's not forget about Qbs. A. Rodgers is far from the top of his game, and before R. Wilson stepped in .....we could have said the same for almost every Wrs currently on the team.

A look at Williams' stats through the years (starting with his second year), including a projected full-year totals for those where he missed time.

    Year ....GP......Rec/Yards/TD (Targets) ... Projected Rec/Yards/TD (Targets)

    2018....16......43/664/10 (66)
    2019....15......49/1001/2 (90) ... 56/1134/2 (102)
    2020....15......48/756/5 (85) ..... 54/857/6 (96)
    2021....16......76/1146/9 (129) .. 81/1218/10 (137)
    2022....13......63/895/4 (93) ..... 82/1170/5 (122)
    2023.....3.......19/249/1 (26) .... 108/1411/6 (147)
    2024.....9.......12/166/0 (21) ..... 23/314/0 (40)

2023's projection is based off of an extremely small sample, but it's not unreasonable to expect 2021/22 levels of production.

He missed one game each season from 2019-21, then four games in 2022, and the majority of the 2023 with the ACL tear (late September).

    Comparative trade market
    • Davante Adams = 2025 conditional 3rd (likely remains a 3rd)
    • Amari Cooper + 2025 6th = 2025 3rd + 2026 7th
    • Deondre Hopkins = 2025 conditional 5th (becomes a 4th if KC makes the Super Bowl)
    • Diontae Johnson + 2025 6th = 2025 5th
    • Jonathan Mingo + 2025 7th = 2025 4th
    • Mike Williams = 2025 5th
Current Steelers 2025 draft picks after Williams and Smith trades:
    • 1st round x 1
    • 2nd round x 1
    • 3rd round x 1
    • 4th round x 1
    • 5th round x 1 (from Rams, Kevin Dotson)
    • 6th round x 1 (from Texans, Kendrick Green)
    • 7th round x 2 (from Eagles, Kenny Pickett)
Williams signed a one-year deal with the Jets this offseason (they added four void years), making him a rental on its face. However, his fit as a boundary receiver with better size and ability than Jefferson - and legitimate WR2 talent if he can regain full form from last year's ACL tear - make him a candidate to be resigned. I like that it allows Austin III and Wilson (when finally healthy) to operate out of the slot, with Jefferson feeling the squeeze on snaps.

That said, Williams is probably ~85% on recovery from the ACL, and while some of his injury history is overblown, his career has been peppered with injuries that don't always include a full missed game. He's also coming off a serious knee injury at age 30. With that and the market in mind a 2025 5th feels like an overpay. There's a chance he rebounds and can help the team out this season - possibly beyond - but Williams was at best a WR3 for the Jets (with Lazard on IR). Feels like Khan pressed a bit and had two 5ths to use, so he dealt one.

I'd give it a B- now, will hope it becomes an A.

Mike Williams is better than Diontae Johnson

I like it. Former 1st rounder (7th pick overall 2017), has size 6' 4 218, good locker room presence, makes sense to me, once the Jets got Davante... it's now a reality.

    Pickens
    Williams
    Austin
    Jefferson

This is better and there is potential here, I think William bounces back from his ACL

If you look at the entire package a turnip is better than Diontae Johnson
