    Watt:

    Defensive player of the week

Watt’s official line on the night: six pressures, 2.0 sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

Highest rated Edge week 8 per PFF (allegedly)

During the Jets game, Raiders game and the Colts game TJ Watt couldn’t do much because the Oline constantly had 2 or 3 people blocking TJ even if the play wasn’t coming his way. It is the only way teams can win the battle against him. This clown had at least 2 costly penalties, gave up two sacks and a strip fumble. That’s like being 2 laps down in the Indy 500 and claiming you won because your car came across the finish line on the last lap by a nose.

What a delusional clown. The only people on earth who agree with his take are him and his mom and she is probably rolling her eyes.

TJ had been relatively quite the previous couple of weeks, but you knew it wasn't going to stay that way for long. Having Highsmith back sure didn't hurt TJ either.

Just to add insult to injury: TJ and Highsmith switched sides 4 times in Monday's game. One of Highsmith's sacks came against Eluemunor.

TJ has gone back to back games without a sack only twice since 2018... He did so after injury in 2022 and again vs. Jets and Raiders in 2024. It isn't often that he isn't a factor. Keep in mind too that while he was held pretty much completely in check stats wise vs. the Jets, he still had 5 solo tackles (2 TFL) and two forced fumbles in the Raiders game... so he wasn't without huge impact there. It does make sense though that those two games were without one or both Highsmith and Herbig, so they got to spend a large amount of effort doubling his side.

I think Watt will end up with 16 or more sacks... He's been 1+ sack a game guy for the past 4 years when healthy, so there is no reason for me to believe that this year will be different. I am certain that he will have multiple games before the end of the year where he gets multiple sacks in a game. If he can continue to keep that number high and keep providing turnover plays, then I think he has a great shot at winning the DPOY that he probably deserved last season. He is the odds on favorite as we speak.

Sometimes its better to keep your mouth shut. I know he was responding to some of the backlash that he got from his "island" comments, but he was hardly on a complete island, and TJ Watt was the best defensive player of the week across the NFL... There is no stretch that can be made about "locking up" anyone. He did fine all things considered, but this was a time to have thick skin and keep your mouth shut... he didn't and now looks like a clown because of it.

Somewhere, a Browns fan still thinks Myles Garrett is better than TJ Watt.

He needs to explain that statement to his QB, I’m sure he would agree.

Can you imagine the hate that would follow TJ Watt around if he ripped the helmet off a QB and used it as a weapon on a defenseless player? It’s already an afterthought for Myles Garrett.

You actually didn't take it as far as it really went. Let's say Watt did it to LamarJackson, and then accused Him of calling Him a racist word. Just like Garrett did Mason.

You have a very valid point. Watt would probably be out of the league at the minimum.

Exactly what island did he have Watt on? Fantasy Island? Epstein Island?
