I think he means that we've typically sat on our hands and not made that move mid-season to try to improve the team for a run at it. Not necessarily that trading for a WR is what has been holding us back.

Hopkins I can certainly agree with, low cost in draft pick and no financial cost to carry. Beyond Aiyuk, the overall cost for what could be a half season rental is high in my book. Slayton (if indeed available) would seem to fit the need, but again IF he is available and at what cost. The biggest failure is not taking care of this preseason. The off season trade of DJ not having a solid plan in place is where this whole thing started. If that plan was to rely on a rookie and the drifters they brought in is poor management indeed.

Great, now we can look forward to another signing of a WR by another AFC playoff contender.

I think Khan and the Steelers were completely played by Aiyuk to get his new contract with the 49ers.

Fair enough...but still feel like that isn't what it holding us back outside of if we could have traded for Matt Stafford or Jared Goff at that time.

I just look at what has happened in the last week leading up to the trade deadline and ask "Why not me"
    Kansas City Chiefs: DeAndre Hopkins
    Buffalo Bills: Amari Cooper
    Baltimore Ravens: Diontae Johnson

Funny, looking back I remember playing the "Why not me" drinking game where you had to take a drink every time they sang "Why Not Me". I got serious messed up in country bars on that drinking game; the ending of the song is just a killer.

Every AFC team in the hunt has made a move to better themselves.

If Steelers are serious, it is now or never.

Hey I hope me telling You I didn't read what You wrote yesterday upset You. I just didn't read it, and I didn't want to lie to You like I did read it. I was about to get off the board, and I was tired of the conversation. It's on me. Not You.

Nah, you're good man haha we're all on here for fun man, you don't have to read anything if you don't want to.

I enjoy the back and forth. I typically don't take anything personally anyways as long as you treat people with respect (you do). No reason to apologize to me for that.

That's like my wife told me that TJ Maxx had Steelers jerseys for sale for under $20. I went over to the store last week and they were all Kenny Pickett and Juju jerseys.

I mean, do we really need another expensive or old wr to come in. I think Russ have shown us that he has more than enough targets to spread the ball around. When Patterson gets back and we get Roman healthy and in the fold. We are gonna be potent. Heck, you can get creative and have packages for either of our backup qb's.

Roman was just put on IR. Even when he was healthy he was inactive on gameday this year. There is a good chance you will not see Roman Wilson in Stadium until 2025.

If you are holding out hope that Roman Wilson is what the WR room needs this year, you better have another look at those Expensive an Old WRs you were talking about, because you will not see Roman on the field again until next year.

I’m guessing there are 30 teams besides the Steelers who would be in on the bidding for him.

Patterson may be a converted receiver, but he has been a running back for a long time and he was never particularly good at receiver. Wilson is on IR and so far behind in his development that I doubt he will contribute much at all this season.

Slayton, who is probably the best available trade target, isn't old. He is 27. He is available because he will be a free agent after the season and his team sucks.

Did you read that before posting it? Johnson said nothing about revenge. Here is what Johnson said.

"Just how hard we compete against each other," Johnson told Ravens reporter. "Getting the football out; just making plays and everybody tackling. It’s a big rivalry game, so just to be on this side now is different. I’m excited."

No revenge. Just excited to play in a rivalry game that he knows well. Sorry, but it drives me nuts when people post dishonest clickbait. Strackbein is a hack, an embarrassment to actual journalists.

Actually he will be on the field at the next home game. It will just be on the sidelines. Possibly in sweats ala Duce

I don’t think non combatants travel to away games

    Yeah , I read it.
Its still going to be a big game.
    Jackson going against Johnson
First game for Queen against the Ravens
    Winner likely takes AFC North
The writer should have said big game, not soo much Johnson looking for revenge.

JC, some of you are soo damn touchy ..

He shouldn't have used the word revenge at all. That's one example of why Strackbein is a clickbaiting, worthless hack.
