"I told Coach I had to sit down because I was tired."
Richardson may never get that job back.

Richardson was completing 42% of his passes, absolutely dreadful in this era of football.

I understand that his lineman who go to war play after play weren't real happy with him tapping out because he was "tired".

This guy sucked and never played up to his supposed potential at FL. Another failed project QB in the NFL. Dude is an absolute head case to boot. So far, the 2023 QB draft class is looking pretty sketchy outside of Stroud.

Still haven't seen Hendon Hooker get a chance to play much. Jury is out on him. Wouldn't be surprised to see Detroit trade him for draft capital.

I just don't understand how a GM actually watched game film of Him at Florida, and said. Yes....that's the guy we will spend a 4 overall pick on. That's the type of Guy you pickup in the later rounds as an experiment to see if it works later down the road after some work, and experience.

But this is the same team who gave the head coaching job for a half of the season to Jeff Saturday!

I'd imagine Quenton Nelson has been "tired" of the same damn BS from Jim Irsay since 2019.

People on social media would start hyping Richardson up whenever he showed off his strong arm by throwing a long TD, that's about the only thing he did well.

I seriously doubt AR 15 is done completely in Indianapolis. I do believe however he has lost trust not just in the locker room but the Front Office for the time being. Even so though, all of this isn't on AR15 entirely. This also falls on the likes of Steichen, Ballard and Irsay for not realizing that Richardson needs to learn the game of football overall.

As it stands currently, this game is way too damn fast and advanced for AR 15. He is too reliant on a major deep shot every single play. That isn't going to work in the NFL. His athleticism is special no question but again, that also isn't going to work. Just because Lamars did doesn't mean every Hyper athletic QB will. Justin Fields Is a great example; his athleticism is still great but he is still learning the finer points of the game.

AR15 should have been sat his entire Rookie Season and have learned from the sidelines. If I recall correctly, Gardner Minshew wasn't too bad for the Colts. Steichen and Ballard both should have convinced and signed Minshew for at least two seasons. If AR were to showcase any improvement in Seasons two or Three?! Get rid of Minshew and have Rich start.

Long story short?! AR 15 made a terrible mistake by giving up in the middle of a game. Jim Irsay, Chris Ballard and Shane Steichen however have all collectively failed both his development and the Indianapolis Colts as a whole.

Another excellent example of why a Rookie QBs success is determined by the Organziation that drafts them. :drinks:

I don't think the Colts HC did Richardson any favors either, he only started one year in college he probably needed to sit most of his rookie season. And in their last game against Houston the Colts had the ball before halftime with like 20 seconds on the clock near their own 20 yard line, the HC is calling pass plays of course Richardson turned the ball over in that series.

I think Richardson can be developed into a really good TE.

They have to. People act like there aren't new Qbs coming out year after year. If You wait to long You may miss a CJ Stroud, a Ben Roethlisberger, or others like this. Let's say You spend 3 to 4 years on Richardson, and He doesn't work out, and then You watch Your division rival pick up a Qb like before mentioned.....You just wasted 4 years, didn't get any better, and now Your rival just picked up a new Qb, and are instantly better. Then what???
I've said for years on here that the Qb play in college was getting worse

They didn't do him any favors by taking an experimental Qb in the 1st round.....well maybe they did... because He at least got 1st round money

You said this about Houston, and Washington....yet their Qb have instantly had success. Sometimes a player just isn't good

A lot of these coaches have an ego and think they can fix a player who has some good traits.

In Steichen's Defense, he had back to back reclamation projects that turned out pretty damn good in the likes of both Justin Herbert and Jalen Hurts. Herbert has been nothing short of incredible since his rookie season and Hurts was an MVP Candidate in 2022.

If Richardson gets to see the field again at any point, he better hope his o-line doesn't get "tired" at the wrong time
