LoL. Find where I said we were a elite D. It's seems only the people complaining about the Defense are the ones saying this. Sorry I just give facts. You can twist you half baked stuff you believe on someone else. Has anything you said been correct yet. LoL

I am trying to figure out how Minkah is a dud personally. Has Minkah created the splash plays we all are used to seeing from him?! No... and has not been for a while. However, that is a lot less on Minkah and a lot more on teams doing all they can to actively avoid Minkah as much as possible.

Between Beanie Bishop Jr and Minkah Fitzpatrick, teams will test Beanie 100s of times more before they ever dare go messing with Mink. More often than not, a throw within his zip code doesn't end well... at all. Long story short?!

Stats don't always tell the whole story. Minkah is a Top 5 Safety in all of Football. Losing him would be an "all you can eat buffet" for Offenses wanting to test the MOF; an area where Minkah often thrives in.

Now, regarding the list?! Dan Moore is way too low imo. Dan Moore has been the teams best Offensive Lineman that has started every game. For that matter, Dan Moore is easily the most improved player on the Steelers Roster.

Yes we could, and should be better, but to say we only rely on talent is unfair. If push comes to shove You could say that about any scheme....Offensive, Defensive , or Special Teams. Tell Me a great scheme that actually works that has no talent on it, and that hasn't had to rely on talent.

The vikings have average talent on defense but have a great DC in Brian Flores....Imagine if we would decided to put Flores as DC and let him run our defense,it would be so unfair for the opposing offense!

1st...You only say that because You don't know the players like You do in Pittsburgh, and 2nd....they have given up over 20 points twice, and 30 points twice. We have given up over 20 points once. It's not close. Stop looking at yards.

The vikings defense is a classic no name defense....Who is their best player on defense?

They are still in the top 10 in PPG and I could said the 5 best players on defense of the steelers are better that the best players on defense of the vikings!....The vikings defense were bottom 5 in 2022 and they are much better since they have Flores!

Of course I've been correct... I argued that KFP was the biggest problem on our offense the last two years, I argued that we should have cut ties with Canada prior to 2022, I argued that DJ was a better player than a lot on the board gave him credit for.... I've argued a lot of things that have been true. I've argued some things that haven't, but whatever... so has everyone else. I also didn't argue some of the points that you say I did, but it is what it is.

    1. I argued the timing on the Russell Wilson thing, not that he COULD be better than what we saw with Fields through 6 games. I thought it was an unnecessary risk, but it didn't end up backfiring because Wilson has played well. I worried about Russell's health causing limited mobility and being rusty in games we HAD to have before the bye, but it apparently didn't matter. Nothing to be wrong about here? Fields was the 15th rated passer in the NFL who added with his legs through 6 games. Russell has been the NFL's 3rd rated passer through 2 games so far, and the offense has looked more explosive with him in... I would have waited until after the bye, but apparently we didn't need to. Glad it worked out. Also worth noting that prior to the season I argued that Wilson offered us the ability to be a league average offense. If you look at our PPG right now.... we're league average lol

    2. Yeah I argued that I thought that we should ditch Najee and have Warren and (insert other RB here) should take over the backfield as a tandem. My main point in all of it was how disappointing it was that Najee didn't develop into an elite player, and he was just another NFL starting RB in a large sea of NFL starting caliber backs.... Najee obviously has played well the last 3 weeks, but many decent backs have had quality 3-4 game stretches. Some have a crazy season and that's it. I won't let 3 weeks change a 58 game sample-sized opinion. I am happy that he is playing well, but I still think that we could get similar production at the position for less or with a multitude of different players. Again, there are MANY good RB's in the league. Najee is just one of them. I don't believe he is an elite player. We have a long season ahead of us, and he's going to have to play a lot more really good games for me to even consider him in that company.

    3. I am correct that Dan Moore sucks. He has sucked, and for most of the year has continued to suck. He's been good in a few games this year, obviously can't take that away from him.... but he's been a replacement level player his whole career. Everyone gets all soft for a guy when he has a couple good games... Look at Calvin Austin. He takes a PR to the house (he's always been a good returner) and catches a TD pass and now a group of us is all ready to roll the rest of the year without picking up a true WR2. Its recency bias. He's had a handful of good games and now everyone is like, wow, Moore is kinda good now.... and they forget having to hold their breath every snap because they were afraid Moore was going to get our QB murdered every time he dropped back to pass. It was like that for 3 years. He's had like 3 good games... we need to chill a bit on the "Dan Moore is good" train.

I didn't say Flores was bad....I said just because You don't know the players doesn't mean they aren't good. It's funny how people do this. Like all our players on D would be great in a different scheme other than maybe TJ...., and we are just magically stopping teams from scoring.

That part is true. There are plenty of players that the average fan hasn't heard of, but they're still good players. I too lament naming Austin the DC over Flores, but whatever. There really is 0 way to know for sure if the defense would be better with him instead of Austin. It is all speculation.

Come on, replying to a post that you "didn't read" is weirdo energy... and also not really you.

Part of the reason why I like debating with you is that you're willing to defend your points and actually respond. You're stubborn too (like me), which I respect highly. Don't let me down like that haha

Very disappointed to see Minkah on this list but it is correct. Many games he has guessed on coverage and has guessed wrong. I can’t remember his last interception.

    Minkah is a dud?

and I’d put Fields as an honorable mention. Wilson is the stud - so far

    Sort of

The main receiver is going against Jp but the are backing off

Bushop would normally have the fewest

But JzP is good and Besnie us a rookie so targets are taken from JP and added to Besnie

there numbers on other teams would be reversed

Besnie Bushop? We signed the UDFA from West Virginia, not Southeastern Louisiana Tech. Go Crawdads!

At least one a game, often two. Waitman is a big upgrade over Harvin.

The Steelers have handled Henry and Jackson in the past, but both together is something new. Jackson has also improved as a passer. That doesn't mean the Steelers can't handle him, but it's far from a guarantee, especially with a run defense that has been struggling. You did see what Tracy did to them Monday night, right?

The Steelers' schedule is going to get much tougher the rest of the way. The defense has to be better to hold up to that schedule.

I get that teams are going away from Fitzpatrick, but he has also been caught going the wrong way on multiple big plays this season. I don't think he is reading what opposing offenses are doing as well as he did in the past.

You make very valid point about the defense. It comes down too points given up. I guess my problem with it is I personally don’t enjoy watching that brand of football (death by a thousand cuts - with the long drives we give up only to to get aggressive on defense in the red zone and live by the sword by then trying to create a turnover.) I think it is unsustainable and against better offenses those field goals will turn into touchdowns and they won’t make mistakes and turn the ball over against us. I just would really like to see alot more three and outs. I believe that style of defense of bend but don’t break actually lost us the two games against Dallas and Indy. With the level of talent we have on defense I believe we could be even better and alot more dominant and have safer and bigger leads. Why allow the games to be so close? Were showing the aggression on offense more partly because of Russ’s style of play of wanting to push the ball downfield but also because of Tomlins trust in him. Now lets see us be more aggressive on defense. Man we have the type of players that are actually perfect for press man and for blitzing with the two linebackers on the inside that we have. Lets utilize them. Its so fun watching them come down hill or watching JPJ shut down wr’s. Imagine Watts stats if we actually blitzed more. Against the better teams were gong to have to be more sophisticated and aggressive on defense or they will methodically pick us apart.

In defense of Minkah I think they are using him very conservatively almost in a prevent defensive role on the back end so he isn’t in position to make alot of plays.
