i was told by some pre-season and as late as last week that he was a bust, trade him, he can't play, etc.

I rest my case. I defended him all off season.

I made a case too for Van Jefferson.

JUST give some of these WR's a REAL QB and you can see what they are capable of. CA, of course, is a burner - you can't defend speed!!

great night, Calvin! hope to see much more......

yes, good game. he's more than just a fast kid. i think we have a nice group right now. wait and see as i have said from the start. as a whole with this group, not too bad. russell makes a difference in them. jefferson looking better as well.

well...we had a nice group since camp. Khan put a nice roster together. Jefferson was a #2 draft pick in 2020. Got injured badly. Took 2 years to heal.

AS and Khan got together and assembled this offense.

    these 3 WR's are fine.

we don't need to go crazy to find some elusive so called #2 WR, as has been clamored about endlessly here.

we needed a QB that can THROW the ball - Russ can do that, much to Denver's stupid chagrin!

Two plays don't make these guys legit starters. Austin ran a great route on the touchdown, but he is not consistent. He disappears far too often. Jefferson made a hell of a catch, but even at his best he had never been more than a No. 3 receiver. If they could acquire someone like Slayton and push Austin and Jefferson to the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, that would be ideal.

I'm not sure Austin disappearing is entirely on him blame the QBs, I keep hearing from the media that he's wide open often during games.

Calvin Austin the Third. Loved him coming out of Memphis in 2022. Knew he had it in him. He is just getting started no less.

I expect more of him moving forward.

i've been saying this from the start. these guys can play at this level and have had success in this league. starters in front of them and injuries have been the reason many haven't done it yearly. sometimes it was the offense they were in. i don't want to give up future draft picks for one year rentals. i think we need to add to the D-line if anywhere. since adams went down and to a lessor extent leal, we are thin there. this is a long season and i don't want to use up benton, heyward and ogunjobi.

Austin really showed his world class speed on that punt return. He was actually still accelerating when he crossed the goal line.

We don't know what will be the ceilling for Austin but one thing is sure,he is a NFL caliber player not a poor gadget player like Archer that the steelers had 10 years ago....It was a question mark for some before this season!

Perhaps not, but given that they clearly tried to do this and failed, that isn't a good thing.

thinking back to when JF was playing it seemed like ot of our receivers seemed bad because rarely were they targeted. Along comes RW. Austin looks better as does Van Jefferson The entire offense looks much improved

    correct

a real QB makes players (WR's and TE's) look better - Ben did it time and time again.

Deone Walker from Kentucky might not be a bad place to start. Ideally, I'd want Mason Graham but that isn't happening.
