and decent hands. I'd settle for a Jerry Rice type over Dwight Stones type anyday.

My point on speed is as it relates to bigger, faster, stronger. We can look at the Dolphins with Hill and Waddle and see that speed isn't the end all of the conversation. BUT... having speed at multiple options is not a bad thing. Ever.

He came to mind after hearing Steve young talking on the Patrick show the other day. The day after a SB win, lockers cleaned out, Young went to the stadium to just sit and enjoy the moment, security let him in and he saw a guy running and working out...Jerry Rice. A great story and brings back so many memories.

People would find Walter Payton all alone in Soldier Field running steps

I forget the steeler who ran steps at 3 rivers after a practice, he told Mike Webster who then said he was about to run every step in the stadium, and he did.

    I guess, maybe....

Does it make sense to bring in a WR that has been less productive than a guy you're planning to trade, to replace the traded player?

Andy Isabella has had zero targets since he left Arizona in 2022, and only 6 targets since 2020.

CA3 only had 30 targets last season in 17 games. This season he's already had 21 targets in 7 games.

I don't know why Andy Isabella was brought in. I just don't feel like it is for the WR room. Maybe kick returns?

It's just a depth signing. The guy everyone wants isn't likely to be signed off the scrap heap, especially this late in the year. His asset is his speed and maybe they can exploit it. Isabella doesn't cost them any assets. I would not have given what the Jets did for Adams and Kupp wasn't worth a second with his injury history. I would be mildly surprised if they trade for anyone at this point.

They wouldn’t as an initial trade. I am saying if we are trading for a more well known wr and we send a a draft pick and Austin back to them in a trade.

    Calvin Austin > Isabella

Remember Senquez Golson another second round pick who got injured in camp? Maybe the Isabella signing is insurance for the absent Roman Wilson. I've read that Roman Wilson looks pretty good when healthy but few have really seen that yet. Optimistic we see him in a couple of weeks. Maybe Isabella can also be used as a returner to replace Austin who will now have a more prominent role as the 3 or 4th receiver and get more playing time.

I would definitely keep Austin as the punt returner. He is 9th in the league in punt return average and never fumbles the ball.

Jerry Rice was the best receiver in NFL history. I'm not sure settle is the right word.
