I agree and its mostly barren land. When ...rule6 said about unhappy players requesting a trade, especially 4 and 5 guys on a team that could go for it all, I laughed. If you complain and want out you either are a person who has gotten respect, can be sent to a team for some return value, or a malcontent. No low level earner is going to demand or request a trade because he is unhappy with touches, most are happy just to be in the league.

Many teams need receivers, we all know who they are.
I hope Steelers don't over pay for one.

They are 4-3 with four victories in their last five, so it is very unlikely they are giving up on the season.

Forget about his MASSIVE cap hit for the next two years, are there people who are willing to give up a second round pick for Cooper? Okay, you have to choose between a young, stud DT, Keanu Benton, who isn't even close to his peak, or a busted up, 32-year-old Cooper Kupp, who's lucky to make it through the rest of the season injury free. What's best for the franchise? How about for JPJ, another second rd pick? Zack Fraiser for Cooper Kupp? Straight up for George? Do you see where this is going? The money is nothing, it'll grow back. You can't get those players back.

I doubt the Broncos are worried about Wilson that's just silly, if the Steelers offered them a first or second round pick for a player they will say no because of Wilson.

Green Bay has like 4-5 good receivers, Romeo Doubs skipped practice and was suspended he wasn't happy with his role on the team. It can't hurt to make the call sure they will probably say no.

The steelers would been to overpaid like crazy to have Sutton, not only because of Wilson but also because Denver are in a playoff race right now at 4-3 and they face the panthers on sunday at home. And I don't think Khan is going to overpaid for a WR or it would been a long time ago the steelers would have a another good WR with Pickens

They might not be able to get a guy like Sutton, but a guy like Darius Slayton could be available the Giants season is over.

    This.

At this point, I'd rather have the team look forward to the 2025 Class of Wideouts. Pretty special group there in terms of both talent and depth. No Marvin Harrison Jr. type of talent to speak of though I was anticipating that anyways. That said, Tetairoa McMillan is a combat catch monster who will instantly upgrade any WR Room he steps in and is a nice consolation prize.

Kupp is scheduled to make 20 million in 2025, and due 7 million in March.

yea they can call, the last 2 weeks he has balled out and is rated their 4th best option on O, C Watson is their 2, but has an injury history. A team looking to get to the Sb (and was close last year) is not going to trade valuable assets and depth.

If traded, Kupp's cap hit in 2025 and '26 would be $20M (assuming no contract extension/restructure). Those numbers includes his roster bonuses due in March each year. That's not unreasonable for a WR of his talent, provided he stays healthy. $20M/yr would put him at a low-level WR2 in terms of APY, amongst the likes of Cooper, Godwin, and Diontae.

As far as what it would take to get him, I see a third being the highest draft pick they're going to get. Cooper got a third (though the Browns also sent a sixth with him), and Adams was had for a conditional third (if he in named to the AP team or plays in the AFC championship or Super Bowl it becomes a second). The Rams are trying for the second by floating the idea of picking up some of Kupp's base salary this year, but the Steelers have enough free that that isn't something they need.

Some of you are like that dog from the Up cartoon that yells squirrel every time a WR gets traded in the NFL. But instead of yelling squirrel, you yell WR.....lol..... And then voice your frustration that we did not get that one and wonder if Khan took the week off or something.

IMO....Khan does not like to give away future draft picks for anything less than a fantastic deal. He also seems very cognizant of the draft cap. He tends to have an eye on the long game and is not chasing every shiny object. I am ok with all of that and think it is a good strategy that will make us better in the long run.

In addition to all of that, Pittsburgh is statistically not a WR friendly spot right now. Excluding the Wilson game, Fields has 5 tds and averages 184 yards a game. So if we are not a team with prospects for big wr stats, we have turmoil at QB, and we are not going to give out big bucks to a wr...... We are going to have a lot of difficulty finding a quality wr veteran on a mid season trade...... Again, IMO.

It all depends on how serious Art II is about a playoff win. Watch what the Steelers do and not what they say. If they stay the status quo, they are not serious about a playoff win. If they make a move that helps them offensively to compete with KC, increasing their odds of a playoff win, then I would say they are serious about it. Ultimately it comes down to QB play. If Wilson can keep the chains moving, keeping the defense rested, and score TDs in the redzone, a legit #2 WR may not be needed.
