Mike Tomlin looks like a genius for starting Russell Wilson

You may not see it that way, but it was controversial.

 

I thought it was a bad idea I’ll take some crow. That being said it was 1 game let’s see 4/5 more to do a true comparison. Russ certainly looked like a much better passer last night (not sure anyone really debated that) but also moved well and didn’t get sacked much.

 

That safety valve to Darnell Washington will be a big part of the offense. Russell doesn't seem to have the arm strength, but seems to have a nice arc to his medium and long passes making them easy to catch.

 

it was stated for weeks - no one is stating that Russ is the 2nd coming of Ben. Just has a different set of strengths over Justin.

Tomlin wants a vertical passing game, I do too, for the record.

37 points is NICE and we were not far off from 40+.

Hope to grow on that performance vs. the Giants. Gets tougher with the Skins and the Ratsbirds the following weeks

LoL. I'm a huge Ben fan, but when He talks about Steelers Qbs I can't listen. 1st Trubisky should be left in....then they need to give Pickett more time....then don't take Fields out, and now Wilson will get better. LoL.

Dude, the bashing of Russ is just downright stupid. I didn’t want either one of these qbs, as most of the league was in agreement with me apparently, but the passing game really looked much improved for at least one game.
People arguing to keep a qb that was 4-2 and 28 in league in passing as the starter is beyond me. Oh he has no wrs, yet a qb comes in throws for 2 tds and gets no credit, the aforementioned wrs are now HOFs

 

It's coming. I was telling someone last week that they kept block, and then releasing Washington for a couple of games, and He was open, but Fields just wasn't throwing to him, and then last night all of a sudden Washington gets what....3 , or 4 catches. It's coming.

 

This is what I was saying last week. I never said Russell Wilson would work....I said I hope He did.....what I was 100% sure of was people have been getting open. I seen it game after game. That's why I didn't want to spend on another wrs....because the Qb wasn't seeing the ones we had that were open. I just hope Wilson would see them.

The Cowboys game was the nail in the coffin for Fields… Cowboys had noone on defense and we couldnt score but 17 points.. the dagger I tell ya… before anyone says defense gave up late td, yes i agree, but this game should’ve never come down to that
Plus, Dak threw 3 ints..17 pts?

It was not a good game for the offense but for the 3 interceptions of Dak,everyone was all deep in the steelers territory,so his interceptions prevented more the cowboys to score that help the steelers to score.They did not have a turnover in this game like when the steelers take the ball at the one yard line from the opposing team like last night

But this is a thing of the past,Fields was not awful but if Wilson can turn back the clock a bit from his Seattle days,it will help the steelers a lot!

 

BTW…. I will never ever consider Tomlin a genius

I don't know for genius but it was a crazy bold move....If it don't work and Wilson is washed,it will be such a mess but so far so good for Russell!
