exactly my thought at end of game. Warren looked more like warren again which is a good change of pace with najee.

I still want Khan to trade for another receiver, we need more firepower on offense for the second half of the season and possibly the playoffs.

I still want to see Freiermuth targeted more.

They should have gave him a few chances in the endzone.

Apparently biggest debut by a Steelers Qb ever.

previous record was held by Earl Morral (249 yards passing and 3 TD’s - 0 Ints) in 1957 against the Lions. Ill bet no one here remembers that game lol.

You have to be willing to take chances to get some of that luck. Fields and Wilson two different QB's. Don't want to go down any comparison roads, but on that throw to Muth on his left was gorgeous. He turned, stopped and wristed that pass while fading to avoid the end rusher. That's elite QB brain there. Fields isn't completing that.

Yeah it’s 1 game but it certainly looks like a good move by Tomlin to give Russ a look. Hope he can keep it up. I would really like to get a number 2 WR now

Russ wasn’t great by any means, but he was able to hit some explosive plays, take care of the ball and manage well. The most important factor was Tomlin and Smith’s faith in him to open the playbook. It’s amazing how much better an offense looks when you have a full assortment of plays to work from.

Finally, we got a look at Auther Smith's offense.

Down in the bowl, it looked like Tomlin was 'this close' to pulling Wilson as he was throwing passes to ghosts.
And the fans were ready for such a move.
Turns out it was just some rust, and Wilson came back out (to some boos) but changed the atmosphere with that bomb to Pickens.
That was the part that was missing from Smith's offense, the stretching the field part.
After that, the Jets had to respect the deep throws.
It didn't hurt that their DB's were dropping out with injuries.

Najee Harris needs to get 100yds/game.
You could tell that he was wearing the defense down and those DB's did not like to see 22 break through the line of scrimmage, especially untouched.
Warren looks like he is finally 100% and is the perfect complement to Harris.

They made sure to keep TJ busy but at the cost of allowing others to step it up.
Austin's defense still concerns me some, it reminds me of Petitbon's "bend but don't break" defense.
    None the less, Wow.
Very happy for my Alma Mater, Beanie Bishop. Both picks were really nice.

Even special teams came to play with 2 blocked kicks.
The Steelers will probably get a letter this week about the bad call on the first one - that was not a penalty.

Great game all around and it was great to see and spend time with the '74 team.
Makes the flight home this morning more bearable.

Washington is a mis match in the redzone, why our OC don't take advantage of this is totally bizarre.

You could hear Russ taking command of the line and this offense. he played a well rounded game. Hats off to Arthut for some of the playcalling .

Have to open it up, as you saw last night, RW was under center much more than JF was in previous 6 games.

I dont get this narrative? How is Tomlin a genius? He has 2 QB's one is Super Bowl winner / multi pro bowler and the other is a high 1st rd draft pick. The older guy ( Russ ) was hurt but now healthy. Yes the younger guy ( Justin ) had a winning record at 4-2 but wasnt lighting up the stat sheet, If Tomlin didnt put the older guy (Russ) in to see what he still has in the tank, Tomlin would be the biggest fool in the NFL. This my friends was what is often referred to as a no brainer and had to be done at some point. Doing it now before our conference gauntlet starts was probably the only way that this would have made sense and I am glad he actually made the right call. ( good thing this wasnt a challenge flag type of call )

Given the backlash against Tomlin's decision, no, it wasn't a no-brainer. It was a very good decision.
