4 other Steelers have more receptions than Jefferson and he is supposed to be our #2 WR. I'm not saying that Mike Williams is going to be great here but if he is even slightly below average that is infinitely better than Van Jefferson.

That is why my trade prediction is Monday. He will be inactive on Sunday.

He hasn’t seemed like a malcontent since he has been with the Steelers

    Or did I miss something

Next they are going to scan graveyards and bring a voodoo lady to exhume the corpse of a wide receiver.

At least they won't have to give up picks and pay very little except to the voodoo lady...

I thought we were talking about geriatrics who are malcontents in their current team, who then come to steelers and become starters after getting a geriatric injury doing warm ups in practice (which makes them happy as a clam, injury prone, geriatric as a steeler).

    Or did I miss something.

It seems like the bigger the contract, the worse the performance following that contract for so many NFL players these days. Don't know if they just figure they got a fortune locked up, protect themselves, or if they just played hard to up the negotiating position before a contract and then went back to 'normal'.......Won't be shocked if NFL owners impose some kind of salary caps, either officially or unofficially sometime soon.

The sports shows on ESPN and Fox today are saying that Aaron Rodgers criticism of Williams on the game ending interception against the Bills is running Williams out of New York. But if you watch the play Williams was wide open and Rodgers badly under threw him.

Now don't disturb the people in the graveyards, they are getting ready to vote in a couple of weeks.

not sure this would be much of an upgrade to be honest. if you can't up your game with rodgers throwing you the ball.

valdes- scantling would cost nothing compared to williams. heck sign both. to the PS.

How about Pickens, and CAIII straight up for Garret Wilson? :lolol: What if we throw in Van Jefferson as well?

    Alright, and a 5th.

I appreciate that they are trying to potentially improve the WR room.

The Jacksonville Khans (unlike Omar) are not frugal, and have no idea what they're doing in the sports/entertainment world. Shad became a billionaire manufacturing automotive bumpers, eventually becoming the exclusive supplier to the 'Big Three' auto makers here, as well as Toyota. He bought the Jags prior to the 2012 season, and over the next 12 years through 2023 they've had a winning record in only three, while winning six or less games in the other nine. He gave his son, Tony, the money to form a wrestling company for which Tony serves as chief executive and booker. He's managed to amass an oversized roster of overpaid 'stars' while steadily driving its ratings and gates into the ground.

At any rate, in a trade the bonus prorations stay with the team trading the player. Should they acquire Kirk, the Steelers would be responsible for roughly half of his $14.5M base this year, and would then have him counting about $16.5M against the cap in 2025, should they opt not to extend (or cut) him in the offseason. The Jags would be responsible for $13.65M in dead cap next year, but would still save $1.85M to their cap since they would shed Kirk's base salary.

    Exactly!

Williams trying to come back to the ball to try to help his QB out on a bad throw. If this would have been DJ, he would have kept running his route and threw his hand up to make sure everyone knew how bad of a throw it was .

And, I am always on team DJ, but he could be an ass when his QB threw a bad ball.

JMO, but I believe both were in the wrong. William ran the wrong route, and Rodgers being the D**k he is made sure of going that way to prove a point, and had another player wide-open for a easy 1st.

This is what is often missed in all the signings and trade talk. Sure, to a certain extent a team can make the CAP work for any movement, but long term it gets complicated and the cost will haunt you down the road in either accumulated det or loss of draft capital. Not pointing any right or wrong, there are times when your window says do it now and later will take care of itself. If the Lions (for instance) could make a move for Maxx Crosby then you do it, but right now I'm really not convinced making any significant move for the Steelers is going to get them the trophy. It might get them enough to make the playoffs, even win the division during the brutal stretch coming up. And yes if you get to the dance anything can happen, but this team is not at any real elite level. IDK know how much media talk is just speculation versus how much is real, but when you reach for players and the list narrows to the 5th or beyond player in a postion, then your desperation shows your ineptitude from the beginning.

What’s people’s opinions on DHOP? I know he is older and has battled some injuries at the beginning of this season. But heck he has more receptions than Williams and he has only played in 2 games.

I myself would prefer Kirk over Williams.

If the Titans asked for a 7th for him then yes.
