He’ll be a little more accurate, will take more sacks, same crappy routes and still no MOF.

But hey, at least Fields isn’t playing so all is good.

There will be a huge change because Russell Wilson knows how to play from a under center, and Justin Fields is still learning. Is there a chance the Steelers just fixed their QB/C exchange problem?

Russ was brought in to run Arthur Smith's offense, Justin Fields was brought in because the Steelers loved his raw Talent.

With Russ under center teams will have to respect the pass, and not just assume it is a running play like they were doing with Justin. Play-Action does not work if your QB can't throw when he is under center.

The receivers will get more receptions and Muth should get more targets too.

I take it your preference is Fields over Wilson?

I appreciate what Fields did through the first six weeks, but still feel he has to make continued growth to fully realize his potential.

I don’t mind putting Wilson back in for a little to see what he has left in the tank. I know there is a lot of talk about Wilson’s short comings, but we will see one way or the other in the next two weeks.

I'm not sure why people are getting so worked up over this stuff.
1 We knew all along that Wilson was QB1
2 A switch doesn't necessarily jeopardize Fields future with the team.
3 Our opinion one way or another isn't going to impact the teams decision making.

As long as we keep winning at least 2 out of 3 I couldn’t care less

You clearly have not watched Wilson play and are just advocating change for the sake of change and hoping for positive results.

Wilson hasn’t played a snap for the Steelers

So how are we supposed to watch him if he doesn’t play

    Inquiring minds want to know

Watch the clip I posted. See if the offense looks familiar to you.

And it’s a well know fact Russ doesnt use the MOF but in his case it’s because he can’t, he’s vertically challenged.

But all of that was when Wilson was on other teams

If we are only looking at what Fields did with the Bears that looks different as well

But it’s not a fair comparison to look at one from other teams and the other from games with the Steelers

Once I see Wilson play 6 games here then at least I will make a fair comparison

I am not a fan of either QB. I'd trade both for whatever I could get and go with Kyle Allen backed up by anyone.. and take my lumps.
Ok, that's extreme. But as mentioned, neither do anything to impress me.

I'm not sure I agree with the assessment as to why, but it is as good as any.
Russ did struggle. I was particularly put off when he showed up with his own staff. Sean put an end to that pretty quick.
I think the chemistry was ruined beyond repair at that point.
Here in Pittsburgh, I just don't know what to expect from Russ..

Fileds wasn't getting any better, I feel like we've seen the ceiling. It just doesn't get any better.
He'll have some games just as he did in Chicago where he looks great... then some where he just sucks.
We got the Ollie's bargain basement deal on these two.

I feel like 1 of the two we need to decide on to keep next year, maybe 2 years.
Wilson would be the better choice with a rookie behind him slated to be the QB.
Fields is young and probably feels like he can start and I don't think he wants to accept a mentor role.

So, at this point, I just don't know.
I don't mind taking a peek at Russ, it should be apparent right away where he is.
We didn't do a good job at giving them the best options to succeed.

For me, flip a coin on game day to see who starts.

No we didn’t. You were right about Khan failing in that regard. Asking a lot of any QB to succeed with a bad WR room.

As for Wilson, I’m going to hope he can unlock the offense the way Rudolph did even know they do not play the same style game but who knows, maybe Wilsons experience and better accuracy can be the difference. I don’t believe so but thats what I have to latch onto now and hope for the best.

It's not just his experience. He is more decisive as a passer. He reads defenses better. Those areas are significant weaknesses for Fields, and as others pointed out, he wasn't getting better. If anything, he got worse as a passer the last two games. His poor play against the Raiders was particularly disappointing given that they are a team in total disarray on both sides of the ball.

We do agree that Khan did not put either quarterback in a good position to succeed. It isn't the GM's fault that the line is a mess, but he failed miserably in putting the receiver group together. I wouldn't have hated entrusting the slot to Austin with a collection of rejects from the scrap heap behind him, but asking rejects like Jefferson to be starters was just stupid.

    It's a tough choice. I agree.
The little bit we saw of him against Buffalo, wasn't great.

And why is that a bad thing??? Since when has trying something different to see if it works become a bad thing???

I also see that offense not doing very well with a Qb that the HC/OCs there hand picked not doing very well....so

That's Ok if you are 1-5 or 2-4 but not when you are 4-2 and tied for first place. You can say well if Wilson sucks then just go back to Fields but in a 17 game season you just can't throw one game away just for the heck of it. Having said that though I sure hope Russell looks great Sunday night.

It isn't for the heck of it. They aren't going anywhere with the passing game as it has been most of this season. Even the 2023 version of Wilson can do it better. It is worth the risk to find out if he can still do it.

I guess I just don’t see the need to argue some of these points into the ground.
I mean what do you get if you are right? Swaying someone to your opinion isn’t going to keep the Steelers from starting Wilson. What’s the end game?
