I know You don't think I like the kid,,but I do. He has had 2 ints taken away, and He leads the league in fumbles. Just because we jumped on most of the fumbles.....doesn't mean he's not fumbling them. On a good note. This last game was his 1st game without a fumble. So improvement.
People think I hate the kid. I just love the Steelers, and I believe with this D....we would be doing a disservice to the whole team without looking at all options at trying to make the Offense better.
We have not won one game if the D allows 20 points. Many Qbs can win with a team like that, but You can't expect that , and at least two turnovers every freaking game. You know this. Hell if it doesn't change anything....go back to the kid. All I'm asking is try. Why is that so bad???

Did You hear Pickens interview today?? He didn't say anything bad about either Qb,,but He said one was special with his legs, and one was special with his arm...., but he wouldn't talk bad about either.
If it doesn't work....it doesn't work, and You can always go back to Fields, but You must try all things.

I'm bringing up Daniels to illustrate why people are overrating the upside of Fields. As a rookie, he is doing things Fields can't do and likely will never be able to do.

 

This is not true. There are many quarterbacks with physical gifts comparable to Daniels. Mahomes, Allen, Jackson, Herbert, and Love are all comparable, just to name a few off the top of my head.

In terms of physical talent. Fields is right there with anybody. He just hasn't been able to refine his game the way Daniels has even though he has been in the league a lot longer. That suggests that Fields will never get there.

 

He was benched because he had been out for a month with an injury and they stuck with the hot hand.

this is correct. Ankle injury. Mason got hot and Tomlin did not want to change that formula, even though it appeared Kenny was healthy enough to play.

 

this is what I am afraid of. lacks vision to read and understand defenses and then make the throws that just have to be made.

 

For you stat gurus; Fields' composite CPOE+EPA ranks him 14th in the NFL. Last season, Wilson finished the year 15th in the same metric. FieldS' EPA gets boosted by his rushing. Wilson's gets boosted by his passing. Net results are an average QB for both.
Sure, it's a different team this year, but 2023 Donkeys were not unlike 2024 Steelers, minus the OL mash unit.
So, in my mind, it's a case of either or QB leading to average play.

 

I believe he had tight rope procedure on his ankle.

 

I'm not talking about physical gifts, I'm talking about Daniels being among the top QB's in the league. He can run, has a great arm, can put touch on the ball when he needs to and can read defenses. Yes he has great physical gifts but he has much more than that.
