The (Non STD) Steelers at Vegas Gameday Thread

The Cowboys are far better than the Raiders offensively. Yes, the Lions kicked their asses today, but they are still better than that ****show in Las Vegas.

 

To be fair, the Steelers were shorthanded, too.

 

Yeah. Fields made plenty of mistakes. He killed one drive by panicking under pressure and missing three open throws. He threw a killer interception after the first forced fumble by Watt, only to be bailed out by the officials. He was better in the second half, but I wouldn't say he was good. If he plays anything like this against the Jets next week, we are not going to enjoy the result.

 

I guess the thing I will say is that he catches a lot of crap for reading defenses or lack there of, but he seemed to be making the right read but his accuracy was off. He needs to put more touch on some of his throws.

Yeah, throws like that are real head scratchers.

 

i wonder if there is a protocol for training for touch passes. Fields seems to struggle with the short passes to the backs

 

He does. Even his deep throw to Pickens could have used some more air underneath it. He definitely has the arm strength, he just needs to know when to dial it back.

 

Sam Darnold wasn't great against the Jets and Minnesota still beat them, of course it helps that Aaron Rodgers threw 3 interceptions.

That was a great play by Warren. There were 3 Raiders closer to the ball than him but he hustled his butt off and recovered the ball.

 

Actually the Defense gave You about the exact same thing in the Cowboys game. 3 turnover, and a blocked field goal. Difference is the Offense ran time off the clock, and scored. We are still number 1 Defense in points allowed I believe. Only team ahead of us hasn't played as many games as us.

 

They got the turnovers against Dallas but the pass coverage was terrible, against the Raiders they got turnovers and better pass coverage.

 

It is both. Sometimes he has trouble reading defenses. Other times, he is inaccurate with his throws. He panicked on a few in the first half, rushing throws when he didn't have to do so. I guess that is understandable with the poor pass protection.

He doesn't throw with touch. He doesn't seem capable of doing it.
