Why get cute? Why not keep running the ball inside, mixing in designed runs for Fields, and make some throws? The receivers have been open and Fields seemed to settle in on that drive. Instead, Smith got cute and blew up the drive.

Well, that's kind of my point. His boss just asked to get the running game fixed a few years ago, and here we are with all of it. I'm not trying to oversimplify things, but INO Tomlin has always taken too long to fix specific things.
