man, teo looked horrible running his 40. stiff and slow. he ran a 4.82. they thought he would be under 4.75. he might fall out of first round

There have been a number of ILBs over the years who have run between 4.7 and 5 seconds and still are great players. Some people make too big a deal over this combine crap (not to mention the National Title game, when non of his team mates played worth crap either). He can still be a dependable/solid player.

to me its a competition thing. he looked good against teams in big ten. i compare sec speed to nfl speed. he is slower than i thought he was. it just explains what happened in game to me. i am not saying he is a bust or cant play. i dont think with the way he looked he is a 1st or maybe not even 2nd rd pick. people complained about farrior being slow. i bet he could run that today

Teo is just over hyped. Not saying he won't be a good player in the NFL someday though.

He's on my list of guys I'd take if we trade down. One bad game in which you didn't get any help doesn't erase a couple of years of awesome play. Neither does a 40 time.

what is all the talk about not getting any help? eddie lacy running by him and over him. if another player has to help him how good is he? talent wise the notre dame team was overmatched i know. i look at matchups. teo will face players like warmack, jones, lacy, yeldon, and fluker in the nfl. he got handled. i thought maybe he had a bad game. maybe he isnt that slow and stiff but today i watch him and he is.

    I'm with you.

I'm not as high on Te'o as I once was, but I'd still be interested if we traded down (quite a bit though) and grabbed him. I see him as a gamer... I don't put much stock in the combine at all.

I didn't say it wasn't a bad game. I said it was a bad game. Are you saying all the games in which he performed well against good competition were flukes?

I'm not a big T'eo fan at all, but I will say that his D line got utterly mauled 1v1 by Alabama's O-line all day, and as a result T'eo probably had to fend off more O-linemen (all of whom are pro caliber) in that one game than in any 3 games prior. When a LB gets zero protection from his D-line, he's going to get beat up and worn out. Did he play well? Hell no. But, it wasn't just him.

That said, I have never liked him as pick #17, and today did nothing to make me change my mind.

Track speed and football speed are completely different stories. If we went by speed alone wouldn't DVD be the best corner in the league. If Teo diagnoses the play a half second quicker then the other ilb that ran let's say a 4.6 Teo is going to get there first. We have a high flying ilb in Timmons we need a guy who can set the defense up diagnose what the offense is doing and make adjustments to stop it and to me that's Teo.

It was like BOYS playing with Men, Obviously The Tide had
much better players all over. And much better coaching all over.
I repeat coaching all over. We still must get rid of atleast 2 more coaches.
Strength and coditioning and RB coach. I would also get rid of DL coach.

john mitchell is one of the best coaches on staff. he would be out of work for 30 secs. he is also asst. head coach. he is prob more respected than any asst coach we have and that includes lebeau. no way is HE a problem

For me I would take him in a heart beat in the 2nd, but I'm not sure he will get past the Ravens.

what r u talking about? every time i see heywards name mentioned on here it always how good he is going to be. lets face it, the dline is not about stats. ziggy is not bad if you watch him close. he controls his gap pretty good. problem is sometimes he gets stuck to far inside and gives up the edge. as far as hampton goes i thought he played better this year than he has in the past 3 or 4

Sometimes this combine crap, especially as it relates to the 40, cracks me up. If T'eo had run a 4.75 it would have been no big deal. Does everyone realize how close a 4.82 is to a 4.75. We're talking .07 seconds here. Take a stopwatch and see what 7/100s of a second is like. Blink of an eye. The guy can play even if he is gullible.

i dont think it is so much the time, its how he looked. stiff and mechanical. wasnt fluid at all. i mean i have seen guys run 5 flat and weighed 300 lbs that looked better. he just didnt look athletic to me. just my opinion, there are better options at lb
