Why have so many key Steelers players regressed since last year? Najee, Minkah, Benton, Pickens, and Jones are all playing worse this year compared to last. I mean these are all young players, or guys still in their primes. Any thoughts on why this might be?

I wouldn't put Minkah on that list, and Pickens is hurt by the style of offense they use.

Steelers were overrated by the sports media since the off season. Tomlin, no losing season... blah, blah, blah. Steelers got 2 starting caliber QBs for dirt cheap... and the offense still blows chunks because the O line is still a mess. Same sh!t, different year. Groundhog year. Steelers are in an infinite loop of mediocrity since 2017.

Here are the reasons why those guys have regressed:
    1. Tomlin
    2. Conservative Philosophy
    3. Poor Scheme
    4. Najee - bad fit for scheme, stacked box, lack of vision for cut back.
    5. Minkah -Conservative Defensive scheme often playing two high shell .... essentially a soft zone prevent defense on the back end. That essentially forces Minkah to be the last man on the back end as the safety valve. Its absolute wimpy defense.
    6. Benton - Lost weight and absolutely getting man handled as result.
    7. Pickens - attitude, lacks wr2 and no run game threat to keep defense honest.
    8. Jones - lazy, lacks fundamentals and seems disengaged and lackadaisical.

I am expecting the same type of turn around we saw at the end of the season when Russell Wilson takes the field.

Once we get a QB in there under center and start using play-action I am expecting things to start going better for the offense.

Funny, I just saw an interview with Tom Brady about how young QBs struggle in The NFL because they have never played from under center. Ben even chimed in on this by saying his last year in college his QB coach made him start practicing under center trying to get him ready for the NFL, even though his college offense was all out of the gun.

I'm going to hit on the QB.

There's a chemistry that goes on there with the QB in the huddle.
We know the Fields is not/never has been a strong presence in the huddle... everyone says that as well as self-confessed by Fields himself.
I know from experience, that there are just those guys that can stick their head in the huddle, bark off some plays and the team performs.
There are others who bark of the call and just leave the guys to know their assignment.

Fields is subpar in my book.

Now I am not blaming him for all our woes... but...

I am hoping Wilson has that magic left, I know his skill set has lost a step.. but maybe he can get us going.

This as much as anything. To say the O line stinks yet again may be true, but half or more of the entire staff were/are injured, both starters and back up, you can say next man up, but hard to build any consistency when it's a revolving door.

There seems to be some players and coaches not earning their paychecks. You all know who they are.

And its only game 6. That new Strength and Conditioning coach has worked wonders suggested by Dino Tomlin.

Might just have 3 different QB's next season as well. Maybe they keep Allen.

Personally I have never seen a total QB room replaced all at once.

Does anyone think that Fields would be worth what they are paying QB's now? I don't. And if you think he is going to take a low ball deal to stay with Hot Dog Tomlin I will sell you the Fort Pitt Bridge.

I want to see what Wilson can do. I believe he would at least see a #2 and #3 receiver...

Personally I don't care about other teams injuries.

They have had a rash of injuries early on losing a solid right starting guard as well as the starting right tackle for the season. Plus the strength of the defense your #2 and #3 pass rushers which will be out against the Faders. These are just a few.

    Here is the list:
