It appears that we're gonna "Calvin Austin" Roman's season unfortunately. With how poor the rest of our WR's are, I don't see why we can't give him a try if healthy?

 

Calvin Austin was injured, and when he tried coming back....he re-injured the same thing.

 

Hes a receiver. If hes healthy how long does he need to learn the plays and get up to speed? In fact he should already know the playbook. Just needs a full week of practice. Should hope he plays first game after the bye week at least.

Right. If he's healthy enough to play now, give him a few snaps against the Raiders just to see where he's at, and to get a feel for a NFL game.

Yes Brandon Johnson was on the team for 2 days and then got in the game and caught a pass.

Johnson played in the NFL in 2022 and 2023 for Denver although not a heck of a lot

According to his OC, it's more about Roman being off of and resting the ankle since TC and no longer being in 'game shape', than about learning the playbook.

His OC has repeated that he is not in football shape

Others have pointed out he is not running good routes yet

It has nothing to do with learning the playbook

Apparently Johnson is in football shape and does run routes correctly
