There's not much if anything to disagree with.
Omar got a lot of praise early on, but I think Buyer's remorse is setting in.
To be a successful GM, you really have to address the team's needs and sometimes you have to move a mountain.
He doesn't have the team vision like Lynch does, nor does he have the motor to make something happen like the LA Ram guy.
He made some 'A' moves, but he's done a whole lot of 'D' moves as you outlined.

While they did add some offensive staff, I think they need to increase it.
I would never put Aurthur Smith in the elite OC category, but he's certainly not a bum. I think he's a bit under manned and probably short in the offensive mind categories from his staff.
Knowing what little I do know about Andy Weidl, I'm still pretty confident he is not resting easy on this. I would give anything to hear his thoughts behind closed doors.

Since I mentioned Zach Azzanni, I'll take that as critique.
Why did I mention him? I think more of him as a sublevel coach.. like an assistant to the WR's coach.
I do not think Zach Azzanni is to blame for Pickens issues - as mentioned, he does have a maturity issue.
I would be happy keeping Zach Azzanni as long as they added quality to this staff. I've seen some really good ones that own their units and will take it as a personal challenge to up the production.
At the same time, I also realize that Zach Azzanni has Pickens, and a bunch of ne'er do wells... that's a tall order even for the best staff.

100%, if you are not giving a full effort because you are pouting isn't what a professional does. Yes you will be double teamed and be a decoy a lot of times and that's how it is but the great ones fight through the double teams and find a way to get open. I never ever see separation from him in a route, just him out jumping a the defender essentially. Our route concepts are not great though either but how many times did we see Cowboy WR's receivers wide open. I kpet thinking the whole game, Brady would have shreded us for 600 yards with DB's playing almost 10 yards back. It is ridiculous.

Not targeted at you. Others have brought his name up recently. All good! :drinks:

My point is even Gordon Ramsey is going to struggle to make a five star meal from ingredients purchased from a run down food market. To your point, you are correct. Zach has what he has and has to work with it. That said, a little difficult to do so when the players he is working with simply are not built for the roles they are intended to be.

Van Jefferson is what he is at this point in his career.

    CA III is slot only.

All others are nothing more than taxi squad players.

This is, more or less, what Zach is working with. However, the players themselves are not doing any of the Offensive Staff favors.

If you take talent over character it might work but more likely than not it blows up in your face. The dude is an immature punk and we have a coach that doesn't put the hammer down on this ****. We've seen it before. If you don't have guys that 100% committed to the team above all else it wont work, because the moment adversity strikes they crumble!!

‘this is the typical wordsmith, Coach crap he puts out. His act is old and outdated, just like his offensive philosophy.

I don't care if he's their top WR or not Khan should be offering him up in trades at the deadline, remember some fans saying they got rid of Diontae because he's a bad influence on Pickens.

His name was brought up in a rumor about the upcoming trade deadline a week or so ago. I initially blew that off for it was nothing more than just that; a rumor. However, some rumors do indeed have more merit than others.

That isn't to say that the rumor is 100% true. It does point to the fact that some of them have more traction as opposed to others.

You can't compare the cast AB had round him to the one GP has either.

This was my fear with Pickens that it was never going to be long before he was tired of Meek Mike Tomlin's Milque Toast approach to offense, to MT's try to win by trying not to lose philosophy on both sides of the ball.

    Here we are.

Yeah, Russini mentioned Pickens name as a possible trade bait. How do you face your teammates after giving a half assed effort like that?

The person who's buying them really should pay attention to what's in them.

I don't care about the cast there's no excuse for not giving 100% effort.

There's plenty of that in WR rooms all over the league, the position is full of bitches.

The cast is what it is though, lousy. As is the coaching.

Yeah that’s terrible. JT points this out in his film breakdown of Fields, gets on Pickens for half-assing it and he’s 100% right.

Any half decent QB destroys MT's softie zone defense we have seen it for years. Tomlin blinks hard and learns nothing, 17 years, and still nothing sinks in.

Exactly, when do you ever see a Steelers WR wide open? very rare, terrible concepts, it's tragic to watch, it's like an NFL video game from the 1980s when they only had enough memory capacity for 12 different plays

I swear every ****ing game on offense is the ****ing same, watching the same plays, the same routes, the same throws, the same 3 and outs, knowing the play calls like the back of your hand, watching the same game over and over again..

And it fails over and over and over again...

Kozora blaming Pickens for a defensive failure? That's a twist.

btw, Tomlin didn't lie when he said they limited Pickens' snaps to get better play. That is EXACTLY what you do when you bench a player. Or you can frame it as 'he was benched for poor play'.... some difference.

If Pickens catches that 3rd down pass maybe they score on that drive, or they run more time off the clock.
