Both teams have receivers they are probably tired of, the Raiders would probably take him next year he would still be on his rookie contract.

He did indeed. It was obvious he was not engaged in the game last night. Something is going on there. Its the same old same old. Nothing changes. Overly conservative defense. ugly messy games. Conservative offense. Just boring boring football. Has been happening for literally the last five years. Tomlin thinks he has found some magic formula only to realize it never works once we play good teams in the playoffs.

Maybe he failed the pregame test, just like Mendy did that one year?

This mindset really all started the year Ben got hurt and Duck Hodges came in and played. Tomlin realized conservative football can win games. He fell in love with conservative football. What he hasn’t realized is conservative football can win games but it won’t win against good teams and often it loses against inferior teams. Its why we have a winning record against the ravens and lamar because we allow him to thro enough to make that mistake and turnover which he is prone to making.

You also forgot to mention Tomlin’s whole game plan on defense is to turn the ball over. Thats why he rushes four and plays a shell two high safety defense with zone coverage. He figures we will let them trow the hell out of the ball and eventually they will make a mistake and turn it over.

Coaches think they can fix young guys with elite talent regardless of what is going wrong. Tomlin gets caught up in this, too. If the Raiders think they can tap into Pickens talent, that deal would make a great deal of sense for them. They are young and rebuilding. Adams wants out. They get a replacement still on his rookie contract. If anything, I think it is the Steelers who would say no just as they balked at trading him in a deal for Aiyuk.

The history of diva WR's on this team the past 20 years under Tomlin is kinda crazy. Its almost like they are seeking these guys out.

Tomlin claimed "snap management " on why Pickens didn't play as much. He said they managed his snaps just like a defensive edge rusher. I'm telling you it is a stupid thing to say. If he's under discipline and you don't want to give details you just tell them that. Instead of coming up with this lie

I like the kid, I like his passion. But hey, some people didn't like Ward for high stepping on defense players faces.

Tomlin is so caught up in media/fans accurately stating he had Cowhers players n coaches early in.his career that he's overcompensating since 2011 to do it his way, which coincidentally hasn't been working since 2011 either

His time has past n Art is clueless

I actually laughed when it happened, guy was talking smack to him. If he did it during the game when it could have hurt them Id feel different about it. As it is, he’ll probably be a little light in the pockets next week.

I still question if all this stuff is true. There's way to many writers who write stuff they know nothing about. We seen it with aiyuk, we are even seeing it with Adam's. We've seen Jones words taken out context.

Cowher wasn’t perfect either. The difference is Cowher was only conservative on offense. He was extremely aggressive on defense. Tomlin is ultra aggressive on both offense and defense.

Its starting to trickle out now. They were and have been unhappy with Pickens effort and it came to a head in the Colts game. He doesn’t always give maximum effort when the play is a run play or he isn’t a primary target on the play. Apparently other teams are picking up on this and as a result he is telegraphing the plays based on his tendencies. They told him to knock it off but he hasn’t been willing to change. I believe Tomlin probably took this as OK we will call your bulge. If you are tired and can’t give maximum effort we will just take you out on certain plays. I think this was Tomlins way of kind of calling him out and hoping he would get the message and react accordingly, but of course Pickens in his immature way is taking it wrong. I wouldn’t be surprised if he asks for a trade soon. Whaat a shame all of that talent.

This is where I wish Tomlin were more like Belicheck. Belicheck never let it get to this point. He never let guys get bigger than team.

Zach Azzanni is the new WR's coach. A little less than impressive resume.
Pickens has talent to be a John Taylor in this league, but his brain just isn't there.
I think he get frustrated and acts out.
I think a little better staff could get more out of him to help him be the pro he thinks he is.

As I've mentioned earlier, I am disappointed in the brass for not doing more - they left a lot on the table and could have added a WR and in fact it looks like they are not even interested in doing so.

I hate to give up on Pickens...

Khan came up short in putting this team together. He traded away one of his top two receivers and did not acquire an adequate replacement, choosing instead to rely on a third-round pick, a third-year player who has done very little, and a bunch of guys he found on the scrap heap. The result should not be surprising to anyone.

The same is true of the secondary. Khan left them short-handed at cornerback. He left them without an experienced slot corner. Bishop is an undrafted free agent and it shows. He has made a few plays, but he is blowing coverages and taking penalties way too often. That's on Khan for leaving the team to rely on an undrafted rookie in such a key role.

Pickens by himself has been a problem. However, that problem is only going to get worse for the issue is the lack of talent at the Wide Receiving Room. People blaming Zach Azzanni for working with essentially lunchables as ingredients is no different than people blaming Karl Dunbar even though the talent he is working with is arguably worse sans Heyward.

The issue isn't all on coaching. Talent needs to be added to that WR Room; by WHATEVER MEANS NECESSARY. If the consequences of this includes trading a star player for one?! So be it.

Fields didn't have himself a day to remember. However, the entire Offense has had a month to forget; a month plus years dating back to 2022. This inefficiency isn't going to last much longer for the players will begin to turn on their coach sooner rather than later.
