Yep, throw it to Muth over the middle to get the first down.

 

The 2nd down play was the time to go play action and we ran again. Then 3rd down he rolls left and I think if he commits and goes he gets to the sticks for the first down but forces it into double coverage on the sideline.

 

He was open early at line to gain on 3rd down n Fields didn't even look at him

 

It seems like we rarely have someone wide open like the opposition seams to have regularly.

This is the first game I’ve thought Fields is clearly in his head. Role players haven’t been good, but he’s had open guys at a fairly decent rate and clear first downs if he ran. Rough decisions tonight

Freiermuth was well covered. I do not know what you are guys are looking at. There were two defenders between Fields and the first down, so he couldn't run for it. Nobody was open. He gave Pickens a chance to make a play because he didn't have anything else available to him.

This simply cannot continue. Pickens cannot be the only one getting open. Not only that, there needs to be better scheming for him to get open as well.

There was a defender right there with him. Maybe Fields could have forced it in there, but that would have been a risky throw, too

 

Im fine with Fields taking shots downfield to keep the defense honest. If he anticipated that throw to Pickens earlier it would have been good but he was forced out of the pocket.
