Since we have not heard a peep from the front office all is speculation at this point. The bottom line the team is in cap h$%#.

Willie Colon for sure. Offensive line is going in a different direction.
James Harrison maybe if a restructure can't be worked out. Would like to see him back at a reduced rate.

    From the AFC article:

Troy Polamalu / Heath Miller / Ike Taylor, Pittsburgh Steelers: The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette paints a salary-cap picture so dire that the Steelers could lose several key veterans if the players don't agree to pay cuts. Polamalu ($7.5 million) has missed multiple games in three of the past four seasons. Miller ($5.16 million) is coming off a torn ACL, PCL and MCL in his right knee. Taylor ($6 million) appears to have fallen behind free agent Keenan Lewis in the organization's pecking order.

Hmmmm, read the last sentence. Ike needs to take a paycut. If Keenan Lewis is signed, Ike may be playing for another team. Guess we will see if he would be receptive to a paycut. My bet is no.

Unfortunatly for Heath he was at the top of his game when his knee got tore up from the floor. Can't see him starting the season with that major of an injury. They need a tight end in the draft as well as looking in the free agent market. Also can't see them releasing him, but who knows. Maybe that injured reserve exception.

Troy can't stay on the field and there is no trust that he will this season as well. An impact player when healthy, but lets be truthful here, when was the last season he was? I can't see Troy playing on another team so I believe a restructure will be worked out and I can see him taking a paycut to stay.

Ike wasn't up to his past standard last season, but if we're in a position where we have to choose between him and Lewis, rather than think about further developing our DB corps... we may be in a bit of trouble. Cortez Allen's level of play may turn out to be one of the most important factors next year in this case...

If they tried to cut Heath there would be riots in the streets and rightfully so. Even the very thought of it makes my blood boil. I can't imagine what I'd do if they actually done something as stupid as that. I actually figured Ike would get let go during the part of this season where our d was stinking up the joint. I'd hate to see Troy go but I honestly think If I HAD to make a cut between him or Heath I'd AT THIS POINT have to let Troy walk. If I'm signing the pay checks I'm getting a much greater return on Heath because he's MUCH more dependable. I LOVE both players but I'm just saying that Troy spends too little time on the sidelines watching Heath catch everything that's thrown at him. But I would guess that Troy probably makes more money for the organization though with all the merchandise that he no doubt sells. Who would you guys cut if you HAD to? Troy or Heath?

Ben will get restructured this year and possibly extended next year. The colon situation sucks all the way around. At this point you have to assume that he won't be there for the whole season, but the dead money hit of cutting him is a huge pill to swallow for a team in salary cap hell. Restructuring Harrison makes no sense and his algent has already indicated there won't be a payout so he's gone. Foote will probably be brought back at the vet minimum. Ike will be back for at least one more season. Heath and Troy aren't going anywhere. Timmons will get a restructure.
