I don't care much about the yards since some attempts 40 pass per game other attempts just 25-30.Efficiency is way more important.Context matter in each stats

 

You guys make me laugh, we had as bad of situation here in PGH
the last 3 years. Never heard people say Rookie QB should sit and learn.
Never was brought up how bad the play calling was and how terrible the
offensive game planning was. How MT instructed his choice for OC
(Canada)to keep game close , don't have turnovers and defense and kicking game will
Win games for us.

 

The situation of the steelers was awful under Canada.But Canada is gone now and Fields never had Canada as OC

 

The Eagles made the SB with Hurts throwing for under 4k yards. Heck, last year Mahomes only had 4100 and Purdy actually had more yards than him on the season. All that matters is getting there (and winning of course), it doesn't matter how you do it. Our defense is so good that I believe that we can beat anyone right now. We haven't proven that we can win a "shootout" but then again, nobody has proven that they can score enough points on our defense to make it a "shootout". Long season ahead of us of course, but I like where we stand now.

 

Our QB's were garbage last year. All of them. Rudolph came in and played an admirable stretch of games for us to end the season but it was bad. I get that we hung on to Canada too long, but you can't make that excuse for Kenny. We turtled up in 2023 offensively BECAUSE Kenny forced us to. People forget that after his stellar preseason we opened the offense up and let him throw it around. He looked terrible, threw 4 picks in the first 4 games (and had the easiest pick 6 ever dropped by Marcus Peters in the Raiders game). He looked rattled and not ready to operate at an NFL level... so Tomlin told Canada to be more conservative, have Kenny play mistake-free ball, and win defensively. And it worked. The only reason that Kenny isn't on this team right now is because of how he handled the end of the season (being essentially benched for Rudolph) and how he handled us signing Wilson to compete with him and make him better.

 

This is the reason before I started believing in him at all is why I liked him as a person.....if not a player. He seems very likable, smart, and now on top of that....willing to be coached, and learn. I'm Hoping great things for Him.

I didn't believe the Gary Anderson retired jersey theory, because Gary Anderson is not even in the Pittsburgh Hall of Honor with the 49 players that are already there.

If he can't make the Steelers Hall of Honor are they really going to retire his number?

The thing that concerns me is that I don't think we can beat the Chiefs, Bills or sb contender teams with a play not to lose offense.

 

Yes, the double standard that people have about our QB situation the past 3 years is comical
anybody with that has competed in a football setting could see that KP was told do not make a mistake
don't turn ball over and our defense and kicking game will win most games. And then our OC who was way
over his head and couldn't call or prepare a game plan. Granted KP did not play as well as I have seen him play,
he was scared to make a mistake, but he was a second year player, they are going to make mistakes. But people didn't care about this. I do not
like the way KP exited the Steelers but his reasons are his., He no longer plays for the PGH Steelers, so I really don't care. He was never going
to be Pat Mahomes, or Joe Burrow, but with proper coaching and experience he MAY have been a Geno Smith,J Goff?
That is all I will be saying about this, We are not going back. I am rooting for any QB that plays for the PGH Steelers.
