On the subject of potato pancakes- if you are ever in Buffalo, besides Charley the Butcher for beef on weck. visit the Lake Effect Diner. Stepson went to college and we ended up there for breakfast. Looked at the prices and they seemed, well, high for a diner. But they have a bar, so what the heck, it's 5:00 somewhere, even at breakfast.
Ordered a Meat Omelet, and my love ordered Stuffed Potato Pancakes. I get my meat omelet, which was as big as my forearm, take one bite, and I knew- they smoke their own bacon. They bring her- all 5', 105 lbs of her- two potato pancakes the size of large dinner plates, filled with everything we've been talking about. It's about 2" thick. She ate about a quarter of it.

All these years later we are back on Ramen Noodles. Was reading a fiction book where they made Ramen with an egg thrown in. Such an easy dinner. We throw what ever is laying around in the fridge. Ramen, egg and pork roll, bacon, ham, chicken, steak, etc. Any veggie you like also. Don't have kids at home but sure they'd dig it.

 

Yes an egg is awesome added to oodles of noodles

 

I've always thrown an egg in mine.

 

Best is fried baloney in it.

 

Used to love fried baloney, now it gives me heartburn

 

When me n a buddy lived together when we were young, Ramen noodles, loaf of bread and beer is all we had

 

What about fried spam???

 

Dude, sometimes i think air gives me heartburn. Probably the Copenhagen giving it to me or just plain ole old age. Sucks

Always liked frying baloney and bacon. Adding cheese and tomatoes for an awesome sandwich. Adding @HeinzMustard on it to bring out the flavor

 

Still one of my favorite snacks is to fry it a bit on both sides , and then pour pancake batter over them, and make individual pancakes with a piece of fried spam in each one. Delicious.

I used to think I invented banana pancakes that i made for me and my little sister

 

LoL. I also eat those. My Grandfather made them.

 

One would think someone that uses beavis and butthead as an avatar would get a dumb joke.

 

Dude… by no means i was being snarky. In fact, you are correct. Would’ve offered you one but you were no where to be found.

 

Funny. I never heard of it until reading a fiction book by a British author. Tend not to trust them since they eat bake beans on toast. (which I tried and liked) I forgot about Ramen Noodles. Had not eaten them in 50 years. Now we buy the 6 pack.

 

I'd rather have fried Razorback

 

Fried baloney was only way I could eat it. I recall it was the cheapest cold cut in the 60's and all my family could afford. Once I got a start in life I never ate it again. I'm thinking my stomach wouldn't allow it anyhow.

 

We ate a lot of liverwurst too
