Here is the report by DeFabo on The Athletic. He cites a team source saying that Highsmith will be out "a couple of weeks."

At this point, I would consider him missing just a couple of games good news, though it severely tests the team's depth. Watt and Herbig are going to get plays off. Somebody needs to step in who isn't useless.

Golden had every right to choose to move on with his life, but he also kind of screwed the Steelers by signing and then bailing on them the way he did.

well, we will get to see if Watt and Herbig are a dynamic duo. I hope they destroy the Colts. Hope they both blitz all game:steelflag::steelflag::steelflag:

Leal can back up Herbig and Watt. After that, I don’t think we have anyone else

They don't. Jeremiah Moon is on IR. Adetokunbo Ogundeji is on the practice squad. He started 27 games for the Falcons in 2021 and 2022. He missed all of last season with an injury, then they cut him in May. I hope they can sign a better option than that.

Great news that the injury is not more severe! Excited for Herbig, but need a rotation there on running downs probably. Not sure Nick can handle Alex's level in volume snaps or is as good against the run.

I am also concerned about him being too aggressive, especially against a mobile quarterback.

When Herbig is on the field he produces. If Herbig puts up another multi sack game with Highsmith out, he may not be coming off the bench for long This is the opportunity Herbig needed.

I didn't know Herbig was so young at only 22 right now.

I doubt we see any kind of takeover for Alex Highsmith when healthy outside of spelling him at times. I don't have as much concern with Nick's pressure the QB ability...I just don't know if he is a liability in some other facets of the game yet. But at 22, the future seems bright.

The injuries are somewhat of a concern. Highsmith, Trice, Fautanu, Warren, Seumalo. Good news is that its only the 4th game.

Agree...it's early and we have weathered the storm through 3 weeks. 4 of the 5 will be back so lets hope it doesn't snowball before they do.

He is a tremendous pass rusher, but I'm not sure how he will hold up against the run. He is still on the small side, which can give him trouble taking on blockers. He also might be a little too aggressive, which offenses can use to create big holes.

I just want to know where Herbig keeps his weight. He is the same weight 240 as Alex Highsmith, but 2 inches shorter. TJ is also 2 inches taller than Herbig, but 15 pounds heavier; TJ and Herbig had a side by side picture and TJ's arms were so much bigger than Herbig s, so it is definitely not the upper body.

Is Herbig one of those guys that has huge legs? 6'2 and 240 lbs is not a small guy.

I am assuming that his over aggressiveness is something he will grow out of with experience when the game "Slows Down" for him.

He has the starting job now, and maybe in a few weeks Tomlin will be using the phrase "We have to go with the Hot Hand" on Herbig

Leal is now 275lbs and has attributed his resurgence due to that. That alone isnt the reason that I see it though; him being mismanaged as a whole. Hopefully Leal can take advantage of this oppurtunity and do well.

Leal had a very good preseason. He also looked well against Los Angeles. Time to see if Leal can continue to ascend from here.

This is the very 1st thing that has entered my mind. Mind your gaps, know your keys, and stick with that will be the most important thing this week. No hero ball.

Time for Leal to step up, he is going to get chances these next 2 weeks. Show the coaches
    what you can do.

Herbig is next man up behind Highsmith. Could be Leal next with Moon not yet off IR, but he is listed as scheduled to return.

Heavy dose of Watt and Herbig. I agree that Leal will be given an opportunity, as he will need to sub in for the others.

That is a complete reverse in what he has done the last 2 years. Hope it works.

Leal had a combined weight of 283, bulked up to play DE the last 2 years playing at 320 pounds, and is now back down to 275. Big change for Leal.
