That's because he isn't good. We are seeing so many decisions by Khan pan out with this team right now, but counting on Van Jefferson as a starter was not one of them. Their best lineup seems to be playing Austin and Miller with Pickens, but Austin is going to have to keep stepping up with games like what he did against the Chargers to make that work. Hopefully, Wilson can make an impact there, too.

He is way behind the 4 receivers in front of him practice and playbook wise

It’s going to take him a while to catch up with the moving train let alone get out of the baggage car

Moving train? Baggage car? The steelers must be a bunch of raggedy hobos riding the rails.

Well, isn't that just peachy? I just hope that Patterson can pick up where he left off at against the Chargers

Bet he did it trying to hurdle a defender on that last drive. He missed a few plays after that.

who is our next in line?

why was Harris still playing there?

20 - 10, no chance of losing - why does Tomlin continue to do this?

I really wish he'd quit doing that, he leaves himself vulnerable to injury. I admire his physicality, but it was just a matter of time before he got hurt trying to jump over people.

We have Warren injured and now Harris. Is Shampkin still on practice squad. Cordarelle is going to get more reps. He has looked good but he is 33 so he needs someone else to help him out.

Really bad timing for this with Warren not being 100%, Najee was running the best I've seen him all year in the 2nd half of the Chargers game

    this just in:

RB's get banged up - you need a deep stable!

BUT - why was Harris on the field that late? MT knew Warren was banged up, who was the 4th dressed RB? This is a Tomlin classic fault. Ward and Shampklin ought not to be strangers at this point to an NFL game!

I’d be surprised if Warren was out, but if they’re both out, yikes. Patterson can’t carry the load, so one of or both Shampkin and Ward will be brought up. They both showed flashes in the preseason.

You already posted this. We get it. You don't like Tomlin. Harris hadn't carried the ball all that much. It wasn't unusual for him to be in the game. If I'm right, the issue was him trying to hurdle defenders like a dumbass. If you want to blame Tomlin for not breaking Harris of that idiotic habit, that's fair, but just having him on the field at that point was fine.

Coaches have a tough one with that, but it's been proven time and time again that hurdling a defender can lead to many different injuries (groin, knees, etc) because your body is not planted and totally vulnerable. You want guys being aggressive but he's got to know his backup partner is out so be smart. Its like guys fighting for the extra yard while being gang tackled and then get stripped event though they had the first down already.

I agree, but it is even worse because there is a risk of a fumble and an injury when they hurdle. I think Harris's last lost fumble came on a play when he left his feet, though that was on the goal line. He shouldn't be doing it at all, certainly not with a 10-point lead and very little chance of losing the game.

Maybe it is something minor that he can play through and they are just protecting the injury for a day or two, but seeing him in a sling is certainly troubling. I imagine we will get some clarity tomorrow, but losing both backs right before they face an awful run defense would stink.

Actually the moving train is a Tomlin comment he has used with rookies who get hurt early on I added the baggage car

He got cut by the Dolphins so he is available. Maybe PWP's dream of the "scat" offense will live on.
