The whole point that, has been proven factual, is the QB who possesses the most stable situations will indeed be better than those without. That has been non debatle since the AFL-NFL Merger and will continue to be so for the future and beyond. Bryce Young and CJ Stroud are simply the latest case studies to this.

Geez, STD, it's not that hard. Just go to pro-football-reference, look up the top 3-5 QBs taken in the draft for each of the past 10 years, look up each player's stats for every year (and drill down into smaller-sample trends, too), make note of who their HCs and OCs were, put it into a simple 7-dimensional spreadsheet, and post it. We'll wait.

Funny....because Before Texans got CJ Stroud I believe I remember you saying they were one of the worst teams in the league. Could it just possibly be that CJ Stroud is a great Qb....like I said way before He was drafted.....how I begged us not to draft a Qb , and just go with Mason, and Trubisky, and trade up for CJ Stroud, and that Bryce Young is just not good???
I mean is this not even debatable???

It's not just about who you draft. It's about who you show patience. The Steelers did something you usually see bad franchises do. They gave up on a first-round quarterback after only two seasons. That is concerning.

There are examples of guys who require patience and a good situation. Sure, Bradshaw fits that description, but my issue with him as an example wasn't just that he is a Hall of Famer. He was drafted about 55 years ago. Teams simply don't wait on quarterbacks as long as they did back then.

I'm just wondering if there are examples who are simply very good, not Hall of Famers, who tend to be outliers in many respects.

Well because I was originally trying to make examples of guys that got beat up early, and that didn't do well early, but that turned out well.....that's why I mentioned them. As a GM, and HC you aren't afforded the time as much anymore, and therefore the players aren't either. I who was always on Picketts case....I also wanted Him to come back. Because I honestly don't believe You know what you have for at least 3 whole years. Good , or bad. As one of the biggest T. Edmunds detractors on this board....I even didn't get on him till around the end of His 3rd year.

I did indeed say the Texans were among the worst teams in football. That doesn't mean the Texans didn't have talent at the time. Laremy Tunsil was an All Pro Tackle long before CJ arrived. Nico Collins was there also long before CJ. The Defense also had some pieces. The issue was the Coaching Staff; part of the Entire Organization.

    C.J. came in a very good situation. Granted, DeMeco and Bobby Slowik were the only relative unknowns. Well.... they are not unknown anymore. So again;

A Franchise QB will progress as far and as much as how well the entire Organization is from top to bottom.

Hmmm well looks like Carolina just became a offense juggernaut by just changing Qbs. Sometimes it's the freaking player. Andy Dalton 319 yards, and 3 tds so far. Yet again I was told because they didn't have anyone, and the team sucks is why B. Young was sucking. It's seem not so true. They didn't go get new coaches, or players. They just changed the Qb

    Changing the QB?!

You mean going from a Second Year Number One Overall pick who's confidence has been all but shattered to a proven Veteran who has both started and has been successful?! For that matter, comparing a broken young QB to a seasoned vet?!

A bit lopsided of a comparison... no?!

Don't move the goal post. You said he had nothing around him, and no Coaching, and don't act like Andy Dalton is a HOF Qb. Yet they stick in old popgun armed Dalton, and they are destroying a team. Sometimes a player doesn't play good just because......They aren't good

No goal post moving here. I stand by statement. However, something of note here. You just said I stated there is nothing around Bryce?! When did I say that?!

Diontae Johnson isn't a great WR but he is a former Pro Bolwer. Xavier Lagette was one of the best deep threats coming out of the draft. I was on record in stating their guard combo was among the best signings in FA during the FA Period in the Offseason. They still had both Thielen and Chuba Hubbard as well.

Be that as it may, none of that is a factor if your QBs confidence is broken beyond repair. Besides, it is now known knowledge that David Tepper isn't the most stable guy; constantly rotating Coaching Staffs at every turn. So again, that is called instability for the continuity of a Coaching Staff isn't happening.

So again... a QB, drafted by a team, will only have success so long as the entire organization is both stable and structured. Using a proven vet as an example isn't a 1:1 comparison; doubly so with one who has had success.

Coaching?! Correct for Canales was an unknown. Players?! Refer to the General Section of the Board for the FA period. Regardless, this isn't getting either of us nowhere.

You think a young Franchise QB solves everything while I believe that the situation they are placed in matters more.

Trubisky better in Chicago than anywhere else. How about DeShawn Watson....I was told how bad Texans were , and DeShawn Would be better with great roster of the Browns. ....neither was true. Texans got better with a real Qb, and Trubisky never looked as good as He did in Chicago...., and the Browns got rid of a Qb winning Qb to get Watson.

So again; one was failed after his career year by his own franchise and another was failed by his own doing by not playing foe nearly two seasons.

Again, one is an example of the entire organization not being structured enough to understand that improvement is essential to developing QBs while the other has himself to blame. One proving the importance of who the organization is while the others own undoing is due to self destructive tendencies along with severe lack of playing time; an outlier.

Organizational stability and structure matters. It doubly so applies to the Modern NFL where teams will no longer wait on a QB. To that end, organizations must give their QB every possible avenue to win. When it is done right, QBs like C.J. Stroud and even Tua Tagovailoa will thrive. When it does not, QBs like Sam Darnold and Justin Fields will struggle to even survive.

Place those aforementioned QBs in Organziations that will do all they can for them to succeed and the results shall bear fruit. Sam Darnold and Justin Fields are both 3-0. For the Vikings, this couldn't have come at a better time as JJ McCarthy will learn all he can while healing
    For the Steelers?!

Barring some extreme collaspe?! Justin Fields is the Number 1 QB moving forward.

Again Sam Darnold was 3-0 when he first started with Carolina, and everyone told me how He just had to be on the right team, and then he turned into a pumpkin. So I reserve right to wait on Sam Darnold

Yeah, but to instantly get replaced by a 36 year old Andy Dalton only for your team to put up 36 points with him at the helm is pretty damning.... Young sucks pretty hard.

You can say Stroud was in a better situation, but he came to a team that just won its final game to miss out on the first overall pick, had a brand new HC and staff, and was counting on a bunch of young players to turn it around. Stroud MADE it a stable situation by playing really well and elevating those around him. Now they went out and spent a lot of money since they had the QB to do so. I get that the Panthers organization is bad... but Young didn't prove anything, so it is hard to go out and hamstring your cap to throw money at making a run and you're not even sold on your QB.

    Incorrect.

Sam Darnold was 3-0 on Carolina in 2021. However, the Coaching Staff let down the entire team the rest of 2021; spearheaded by Frank Reich. For that matter, all of the Coaches that was on Reichs staff wasn't even any of his that he picked. Guess who ended up picking the staff without communicating with Reich?! That is right; David Tepper. If anything and, as I said, David Tepper is a massive issue in Carolina; Bryce Young being his latest victim. David Tepper is the Owner of Carolina and, as such, the Panthers have been nothing short of a disaster since he has taken over.

So again, Organizational stability and structure matters. David Tepper is neither.

Not damning at all for Dalton has been in this league long enough to deal with just about anything. Bryce Young isn't the same for the experience gap is as wide of a gap as heaven and earth. Never mind that though; Youngs Confidence is shot while Dalton does not have this issue at all given his previous success.

In short?! We are comparing a puppy to a full grown dog. One is essentially mortified in Young while the other has been through adversity already. Dalton and Young simply are not comparable.

No what it proves is that Carolina is not nearly as bad as everyone tried saying, and blaming for B. Youngs failures.

It is incorrect for what I just stated, have been stating and will continue to state; organizational stability.

Darnold did go 3-0 in Carolina.... but one thing to note here. Reich and the Coaching Staff ended up going in a different direction in terms of play calling. Going against what your QB and Offense both do best is called lack of belief. Where does a lack of belief stem from?! An utter lack of structure. Why?!

Why fix what isn't broke?! Frank Reich did that, and as a result, Carolina would lose its next four games.

Andy Dalton is a veteran. Bryce Young is a second year QB. World of a difference in terms of dealing with chaos and discord. David Tepper and his ineptitude still remains.
