I have to admit, I was not a fan of the Steelers bringing Fields in this off-season. He has been far better than anticipated. I know he threw the one awful pick, but he also threw some absolute dimes today. Hopefully this kid keeps getting better and better.

It was a really good game for sure. He's been hyper accurate when he's on time, and his "internal clock" has definitely improved from his time with Chicago. I am not sure the pick was that awful. I get that he didn't see a guy and it was a tip-drill pick, but Najee had a chance at it and really should've at least been able to stop it from being a pick. That ball doesn't get picked every time. Either way, it was really the only questionable decision he made all day. I hope that he continues to pick up momentum and we start to see some big offensive games follow.

Once Seumalo gets healthy and the O-Line finally gets to gel, I am hoping Fields will be even better.

You really think they are going to send Fields to the bench when they are 3-0 and the offense is coming off it's best game of the season?

it's Justin Fields job to lose at this point. Unless Fields gets injured or goes back to his old ways he is going to continue to be the starter.

You certainly don't have to buy the Fields hype but are you suggesting they go to Wilson when he's finally healthy?

Yeah, Seumalo is a good player, it will be nice to have him back. I don't know what the Colts defense looks like, but it will be nice to not play against a quality defense sometime soon. I want to see how we handle a defense that we SHOULD put a good amount of points up on.

He is in rhythm now, and playing well. There's absolutely no reason to not roll with Fields and see how long he can keep playing well.

Nor should you, but if he continues to make progress and starts making games like this one look routine... then I am good with a Baker-like 3 year deal for modest numbers for a QB. Still not a "Franchise" investment, but one that gives him the confidence to take the job and see what he can turn into. I've said it since camp, he feels like he is in line for a Jalen Hurts-like glow up. If we actually build the team and offense around him, he looks like he has the ability to accel.

Smith is bringing out the best in Fields. I think hes a good OC. If your going to appreciate Fields you have to mention the influence of Arthur Smith.

Who knows what Smith could've done with KP

    We will never know

KP is a coward who tucked tail and ran so we never had a fair chance to find out

But Fields obviously had a much greater competitive spirt than KP so all is good

i kind of agree, one good game does not turn a backup into a franchise player lol

lets see him do it consistently over the course of the season. What if he has a bad game next week? Is he suddenly just a backup again? Lol

i agree, he was still in his rookie contract. He should've stuck it out and stayed. If he were a seasoned vet i would agree with his trade demsnds more

Not throwing picks goes a long way in the NFL. Then there is the threat of him running the ball that keeps defenses wary.

Need the O-line to protect him though.

Disagree with that. Small hands has bust written all over it unless you were a supreme homer. He played at Pitt. Had one season. He played for like a decade. Had zero pocket ability to read the field. Can’t really teach that. Small hands could go play for Andy Reid and he’d still be Kenny Pickett. Nice season in the ACC one time.
