This is a look I don't particularly care for. Yes Chuks was a giant teddy bear and yes he was given all the chances in the world to succeed at starting RT, and yes after getting cut he acted like a jilted lover and saying his new girl was better, we all knew this. That being said a Steelers website dunking on him is kinda petty. Let the Boston media handle that stuff.

Seems like he really earned that dunking on.

A similer question was asked to Stefon Diggs, and he handled it the proper way.

Dont diss your old team just cause youre on a new one.

The Patriots coaches are better. They are smart enough to bench him after 12 snaps instead waiting for 6 years like we did

Another person on the planet who wants to blame their problems on someone else

He’s not deciding if he wants to play football anymore

That door closed when he walked out of the patriots door

No team wants a poor player who quit twice

I have no respect for quitters (Kenny can you hear me, Kenny, Kenny - The Who)

O’Chloroform is one former Steeler who I am pretty sure won’t be resigning with the team. He can go play pinochle with Presley Harvin III.
Why on Earth did the Steelers keep him so long even though it was evident that he was not getting it done? Sunk cost syndrome? He was a third rounder, but maybe if he had been an UDFA with similar performance, it would have been easier for the team to accept that he was not good and move on.

There was some seriously irresponsible journalism that created that false narrative.

We are arguing that a bunch of millionaire players who have been playing the sport for years need a coach to show them how to block? Most of them should be able to coach a HS team. They have been coached for a decade. Coach them up at ****!n 27-28 years old? They certainly know all about it when they get to the booth.

Steelers just might have had a bunch of scrubs on the OL since Pouncey, DeCastro and Villanueva retired. And after Munchak moved on.

Coaching matters for a number of reasons. Players can always improve. Also, players sometimes fall into bad habits. Good coaches can help them identify and correct those issues.

Don’t bother, he’s a troll trying to spread negativity around the team because they have won a couple games. Probably a Browns staff member.

Munchak somehow made scrubs like Villanueva and Foster, both undrafted and Kelvin Beachum, a late round pick, into Pro Bowlers

And some idiots still think Bozo the Clown won something

You must have missed it when you were in timeout

    Even Pickett admitted it

Not really, no, he didn't, but I'm aware that some people love that narrative. It is better than admitting the Steelers botched his entire time with the team from saddling him with Canada to trading him for peanuts rather than telling him to sit down, shut up, and wait his turn.

It was time to move on with Pickett....24 starts and almost no progress from year 1 and year 2.I prefer 100% Fields over Pickett. His ceilling is much higher

Fields has had longer to try to reach that ceiling and still shows the same issues that have always held him back. He has more physical upside, but he still struggles to read NFL defenses and he still drops his eyes too often when he is in the pocket. He also has three years of turning the ball over too often and being at his worst when the game is on the line.

The team is 2-0 due to the defense and Boswell and Fields has made a few pretty plays, so people are excited. I get that. Oddly enough, Tomlin seemed to want this change even though a quarterback who rarely turns over the ball and plays his best in the fourth quarter seems to be a better fit for the way he wants to win.

Also, Fields is a free agent after this season. If he is even mediocre, say something similar to Daniel Jones when he led the Giants to the playoffs a few years ago, he's going to command a huge contract. I hope people saw how that panned out for the Giants.

I have the facts and logic on my side. Do you really doubt that the team handled Pickett horribly? I can lay out that case for you very clearly. The short version is they saddled him with Canada. They saddled him with a poor offensive line. Those are facts.

The last bit of my case is shakier, but it seems to fit the available facts. Pickett started off making big mistakes, then suddenly became ultra-conservative, playing to avoid turnovers. Do you think he did that on his own or was he told to do that? Then there is the avoidance of throws over the middle, which we saw with Roethlisberger and we are still seeing with Fields. It makes sense that it is coming from coaching. Remember, Pickett did much of his damage at Pitt attacking the middle of the field, so does it make sense that he would stop doing what once worked for him on his own? I think the ultra-conservative coaching took away his aggressiveness. This also fits into his success late in games, when the team needed a scoring drive or two to win. He would suddenly find his aggressiveness. Why do you think that happened?

The team also played a role in Pickett's frustration at the end. They allowed and possibly encouraged him to have a surgical procedure designed to rush his recovery from the ankle injury, then never gave him another shot at taking his job back. I agreed with staying with the hot hand rather than bringing him back in with a month of rust on him. I thought the surgery was the mistake. Then the team brought in Wilson and handed him the job. It was clear from day one that there would be no real competition. There are reports out there every bit as credible as the ones you are listening to that Wilson was promised the job was his to get him to sign. It played out that way with Wilson and Fields. Wilson didn't really show that much in preseason, but if he was healthy, he would have started the last two games. Pickett got pissed, which was understandable, but he only voiced that with the team. He did not go public with it. We heard about it after the fact through information that was leaked. Who do you think leaked it? Apply some logic there. The media ran with a narrative that made Pickett a scapegoat. The team easily could have sat him down, told him to shut up and wait his turn. They wanted to move on and the leak helped take the heat for a first-round bust off the team.

I'm sure you have logical and or fact-based arguments to try to refute at least some of what I wrote and that's fine. I look forward to reading them.

All I said is Pickett tucked tail and ran as soon as he had competition

That is a clearly known fact

If you are disagreeing with that then you need to do your homework I’m not doing it for you

No, it is not a fact. It is an opinion. I've read the reports you are basing that opinion on and I do not think they support your conclusion. Perhaps you should read more about the Wilson signing, including the reports that they had to promise him the starting job to get him to sign.
