Sounds kind of like it huh? It is kind of interesting to get a behind the scenes look into the officiating and realize there's more to it than we thought. Makes you realize that the average fan probably doesn't know the rule book as well as they think they do.

All any team can ask is that the rules are applied equally to both teams. Being a lifetime Steeler fan I don’t think this occurs. It is obvious that the league has changed to an Offensive mindset and that Teams that rely more on the Defensive side of the ball are at a disadvantage. Maybe that’s on management for not understanding this.

Don’t think it just now a thing. We are just learning about it. Have you ever tried reading the nfl rule book?

 

I actually have an NFL rulebook a friend gave to me years ago. I did try reading it. Key word is try.

 

Read this earlier today. If this is the rule, and it appears to be, they need to change it. A hold is a hold, regardless of how it occurs. Huge advantage for the offensive lineman…. Defender tries a rip move and he just latches on? Knowing there will be no repercussions? Horse****.

 

I mean, the article literally talks about how it affected James Harrison as well…seems to have been around at least 20 years.

 

I meant why are we just hearing it's a rule now? Fans have been complaining about holds on defenders since the dawn of time.

 

I would say the onus is on the fans to learn. You can’t expect them to hold our hands and explain every detail

The defender is putting himself and the lineman in this position by trying to rip under his arm and gain leverage. Why should the O lineman be penalized if he gets stuck there?

 

Because he’s holding. If the defender gains leverage, that should be his advantage…. He beat the O lineman to get to that position. Why should the O lineman be able to just grab hold? I’m not really sure what you mean by getting stuck, but it’s one thing to get stuck and another to flat out hold. Sticking isn’t a penalty, holding is.

 

it is just the refs hating on the Steelers some more we are going to just all the refs greatness and when we lose because of refs.and be then then when everyone says refs just doing their job and then we can just be and our heads when we lose and lose or we adapt and overcome the and win because we are the the best in the world
