    First of many I hope!!

Fields did very good given the circumstances. I wish he would have had more stats but I will definitely take a marked improvement in terms of what he showed from Week 1 to Week 2. Installing new Offenses take time; doubly so with QBs who have been through multiple Offensive Schemes no less.

Fields is now being placed into a position to succeed. Why so?!

Put your players in winnable positions to win games. Tomlin and Arthur Smith both have done that with Fields. This is the best Fields has ever looked since his hot streak of wins in 2022. Now, he just needs to keep it going.

LFG Fields!!! You got this!!! :steelflag::steelflag::steelflag:

Fields deserve a much better stat line that what he had yesterday. He was great in the first half before he was handcuffed in the second half

The thing that worries me most is that with any QB, rebuilding one or rookie, you surround him with a line that can keep him upright and make plays.

He does have a TE.... very important.
    He has running backs.
    and he has a WR.
Lastly, he does have a defense that can get the ball back.

I can't say that he has impressed me, but he is doing better than what I expected.
Note: His very first play was my expectations.

So, he does deserve some kudos.

I noticed that you said he has "a" WR, lol. Give this kid another WR besides Pickens, and he can be dangerous. I'm impressed with his running ability, and he can throw deep with good accuracy. Needs to get better going through his reads, but he's still better at it than I thought he'd be. He's getting there, I just hope he can put it all together, because I think he can be really good

I think Fields played better than the 1st game, 0 turnovers in 2 games but only 1 TD pass. If Fields can improve week to week I’m OK with it, as long as we keep on winning. When Wilson is healthy Tomlin can make that call, that’s what he gets paid for. I would rather be 2-0 with a QB discussion then 0-2 with that same discussion.

Been listening to a lot of Steelers fans after the game here in Denver saying that Fields should be replaced by Wilson as soon as Russel is healthy. I couldn’t disagree more. While Fields hasn’t been lighting it up, he hasn’t been screwing it up either. Keep Justin out there while we are winning and he isn’t turning the ball over even if it is winning ugly.

I don’t think JF is giving up the starting job anytime soon. He is winning games scoring 13 points and no turnovers that is a MT wet dream.

Perhaps I’m old school but I’d rather see the Steelers win 13-6 ball games with a solid Defense and Fields not turning the ball over than winning 38-35 and having 3 turnovers.

I mean a win is a win is a win.

The problem remains if you get into the playoffs and play a good team that will inevitably be able to score even on a good D (it’s an offensive favored league)

You end up getting beat 37-10

Playoff time isn’t for four months. I would expect some improvement. If not then yeah we’re in trouble.

Same difference to me. A win is a win, doesn't matter how it gets done

So much of it depends on the QB development but in this offense the lack of a 2 WR isn’t going away unless Roman Wilson is much better than I anticipate. I don’t see them adding anyone else of value at this stage but maybe they can trade?

I'm confused of why You are putting David Carr, and Baker Mayfield in this category????
Have we not seen them all play above level at some point....on multiple teams???

I don't feel like the Steelers have the QB of the future on the current roster.
I can't beat up Fields, he's played well enough. I just don't know yet if he's got another level in him.
My gut is that Fields doesn't have a high ceiling. Add that with his upcoming contract, the future seems uncertain.
Fields is hitting the cap at $3.2mil this season, which is not bad, it is a rookie contract.
The Steelers declined the $25 mil 5th year option - right now, all this leads up to what his value is compared to what he thinks it is.
If he plays at the current level, the value is not anything near a top QB.
If he catches fire and even drives the Steelers into a playoff, that of course changes the landscape drastically.
I am a bit of a pessimist, and I think he burst into flames at some point.

Russell Wilson is coming to an end.
He has to play soon to even be in the conversation about next year.
Even if they bring him back, he's a short-term solution.

The best avenue of hope is going with the hope that Fields develops into what most thought he would be.
That would alleviate a lot of hand wringing that is currently going on about drafting QB's, finding veterans, etc.
Then if you could convince Russell to take on the role of Charlie Batch, things would be nice.

Even if Fields plays well this year and Steelers win a playoff game.... Steelers should sign Fields to long term contract AND draft a QB in the first round if a good one is available when they pick.
