If he doesn't improve much, he could be, especially considering the Panthers trade to get him and also Stroud who was drafted after him

Diontae Johnson must think right now that Pickett is Joe Montana compared to Young...This is that bad!

Jamarcus Russell set a pretty high (or maybe I should say low?) bar to beat. But, I will say Young is giving it his worst to catch him.

No one will ever match Jamarcus as a bust. He's the GOAT!!

With the reference to what it cost in capital to get Brice he may well be a bigger bust, Ryan Leaf and Russel are not far behind, especially in terms of monetary cost. Before they restructured the draft seeding payment, first rounders (especially QB's) were given huge bonus money. Both Leaf and Russell fleeced their teams, a lot. lol

What makes the pick even look worse is that they passed on CJ Stroud to take Young. Ouch!

Diontae had a bad first game with only 19 receiving yards and he followed that up yesterday with even a worse game with 15 yards.

Word is, the coaching staff have Russell a blank video tape to 'watch'. When he came back in he told them he had it. WTF!!!

Panthers could go 0-17. I know a few guys who are picking whoever they play in a suicide poll.

    Nah.....1st I wouldn't have picked him.
    2nd. He's still young.
3rd. There have been countless 1st round bust.

I picked Cleveland, because they are playing the Giants. Same thought process. I actually would be less inclined to bet against the Panthers with Dalton starting.

A lot of the TV media is saying he should go the "Kenny Pickett" route and immediately demand a trade to get away from the coaching staff, and more importantly the owner.

If your coaches don't believe in you, is it time to move on?

I honestly don't think it would have mattered if it was C.J. on Carolina vs. Bryce on Houston. For that matter, given how there were reports that the Texans were hoping Young was going to fall for them, it is possible that the scenario that we see today in Young vs. Stroud would be played out much differently if both players were reversed in terms of draft position. None of that is the biggest highlight for me though; David Tepper is.

David Tepper has shown to be an inept, impatient man who is incapable of perseverating through tough times. How so?!

Wanna make this sound even more intriguing?!

Do you think Patrick Mahomes as a Rookie could've survived this?! What about Joe Burrow?! Hell.... what about even a Pro Bowl level Rookie in Andrew Luck?!

David Tepper has failed Bryce Young far more than Bryce Young has failed the Carolina Panthers; hence why I said that, during my final write up of him that Bryce has the highest level of potential bust potential though not due to his own style of play. For that matter, this is another wonderful case study of why drafting a QB is a lot more than selecting the player.

Drafting a QB is only that; selecting someone whom might be the next big thing for the team. The keys for him to do so though go far above and beyond his own tangibles and intangibles. Brock Purdy is an excellent example of what happens when an excellent Front Office, excellent Coaching Staff and excellent talent meet a QB who is tailored built to not only fit in the system but succeed very early in it. C.J. Stroud is another example; a tremendous Offensive Line, a young budding top 10 Defense, an Offensive Mind in Bobby Slowik who has shown he can maximize Stroud's abilities and a Coach in DeMeco Ryans who understands the importance of balance.

I commented last year after season was over that MR should have targeted his hometown team to play for.
Bryce will have to get better quickly, Doesn't the Carolina franchise remind you of the Browns of years past.
    Or even currently?

I like the comparison to Baker Mayfield. How much better off today would the Browns be today, if they had just kept their overall #1 pick; rather than chase the FairyDust that is Watson?

Oh I am not referencing Baker, the ineptitude by the Browns front office ownership the
    Last 20 years.

It would be a close race for biggest idiots of the NFL for Carolina's Owner David Tepper vs the entire Browns front office.

Florio's suggestion is all college QBs should band together and refuse to play for Tepper for the 2025 draft. :laughs:

Andy Dalton has 3 TD passes and over 300 yards in the third quarter as the Panthers are blowing out the Raiders. Maybe Brice Young is just that bad.

My favorite Russell story is when they gave him a blank tape to study and when they asked him if he studied he said yes lol.

I’m not saying Stroud will be Manning but this draft gives off Manning Leaf vibes. I’m not really sure why you’d draft the 5 foot 6 130 lb QB over the guy that clearly was better. But you do you Carolina.
