Official Game Thread - Steelers vs. Broncos

I think we could play similar to week one (add a TD or two) and win that Charger game. Less mistakes (penalties) and more sustained drives to keel our D fresh.

Im still not sold on Fields being starter with a healthy Russ.
Fields did throw some nice balls today tho

 

but how many of those drives last week went beyond midfield? You cant rely on long Fg's every week. The first half was good, could have been 17 0r even 21 pt lead. We went turtle in play calling, penalties and outright sloppy play.

 

He looks like he is slowly settling in. These penalties when he makes big plays or when we get a first down (throw or run) are killing us.

 

At least try to understand that it needs more than that going forward. Unless you want to see another 9-8 and frist round exit

 

I would say how many were in the red zone last week. We got inside the 35-40 enough to rest the D. But ya we need touchdowns. This reminds of me of alot of the Todd Haley years.

 

Ya its only two games but this is starting to get that 9-8 feel. Its still early (crosses fingers) and I feel this is the most talented team we've had in a few years ( I could be wrong, but thats my perception).

 

It really is hard to accurately judge his play today. With all of the penalties, it just killed any rhythm or momentum the offense had. It's undeniable how wonky the offense was in the second half and it seems to me it was a combination of factors that led to it. Penalties, managing Fields correctly to avoid turnovers, safe gameplan and rely on defense, indecision from Fields at times all led to what we saw in the second half. Let's all hope they clean it up.

 

BJ has to be injured. It's no way this guy can go from playing lights out bully football ... to performances like this ... and it started in the preseason

 

Wish our QB didn't need " managed" to avoid turnovers. If this goes on next week we will get blown out

 

It's in his head now getting three penalties on one drive, Tomlin said that's why he didn't get back in the game.
