"Signed a one year deal earlier today and its not with the Steelers. I'll be playing with a new team starting tonight!"

    Wonder what that's about.

He just updated on his Facebook that it's a dodge ball team and that he's still a Steeler. Dude has a sense of humor for sure.

Anybody who bought into it being something "real"/etc...like the Steelers releasing him and signing else where and him announcing it like that, is a complete fool, haha SMH!

Actually just yesterday on NFL.COM there was an article that said he said that he's NOT willing to take a pay cut to stay with us but that he IS willing to restructure.

I read that. They based it off this article on the Tribe~ stlrs.co/XAJ1Q7

NFL.com titled the article: "James Harrison won't take Pittsburgh Steelers pay cut". The problem is...nowhere does James Harrison say he won't. The Tribune article they referenced interviewed his agent who said:

“Can we help the Steelers by restructuring James' contract? We're certainly willing to do that. Do we need to take less money? I don't think so. Personally, I think he's a bargain.”

Pretty far from 'James Harrison won't take Steelers pay cut'. Maybe he won't, but it's weird how these writers can spin things the way they do. Sorry for the semi-hijack, just had me saying 'where'd they get that from?' when I read that yesterday.

Not sure what that has to do with what I said about his FB post. But Harrison NEVER said that...like TTF said it was from an article in the Trib and had quotes from his agent if i remember correctly. And thats typical "Agent Speak" as most call it.

I see exactly what you're saying. I didn't even think of the fact that the article didn't literally say that but I think it's mostly because we've assumed here for some time that he could be gone so I probably just subconsciously thought that what we had suspected was then confirmed. I honestly think he'll be here after reading that though.

He won't get signed anywhere else when the Steelers cut him. He doesnt have as much left in the tank as some of us want to believe. Our castoffs rarely get signed and do anything of significance anywhere else. We seem to have a habit and history of keeping guys well past their prime. As fans we want to lament this whole load of crap about loyalty and rewarding guys with big paychecks they dont deserve based on productivity. Time for JH to take a paycheck based on what he is producing now or step aside and make way for new blood. And while the guy made one of the greatest plays in SB history, that was then and this is now.

I just don't think that anybody is gonna sign him for $6.5M this year and $7.5M next year. If he gets cut here and demands that kind of cheese, it would surprising if anyone but the Steelers are going to pay him that. And after the past 2 seasons, he has shown that he has entered the twilight of his career. We need to stop paying these guys through the nose when they get to this point in their careers.

Cetainly nobody is going to sign him for 6.5 mil, but someone will pay him more than the 1-2 mil the Steelers would probably be willing to pay.

I can't say that I blame James either. He's won 2 rings, the team is rebuilding, has only got 1 big contract thus far since he started late... I don't blame him for snagging a 3-4 million dollar contract from a team switching to a 3-4 (Cleveland, Philly, New Orlean, etc).

James will get signed by someone in the very least to help train their younger guys. He has a TON of experience and that knowledge would be invaluable to them.

It's not like he sets a number, and if everybody passes once then he's out of the league. He can make his number whatever he wants, and play for whatever someone will pay him, and the last time I saw him, he was a starting quality NFL linebacker. Someone will pay him something. Money aside, the best thing we can do for this team in 2013 at the OLB position is start James Harrison. You could say the same thing for a lot of other teams out there.

You're right. If the steelers release Harrison, someone is going to pay him. It's obviously not going to be a long term contract, but someone will definitely pay him to play the 2013 season. I think he can still play atleast 1 more season. And if we pick an OLB in the 1st round, I think it would benefit that person to be around Harrison for a season. But I also understand we are in a bad situation with this salary cap, and unfortunately, some guys have to go because of it. And his age is holding him back. What sucks is how much Woodley accounts for the cap, because the season he gave us this year is definitely not worth having to deal with his cap numbers and the situation it puts us in. He better show up next season in shape and ready to go.

Looks like he got a new tattoo. Has he always had that? I've not noticed it. Of course most of the time you are less likely to see skin on NFL players than ink.

It's not new. He's got one on each arm. James on the right forearm, and Henry on the left. They're the names of his sons.
