There has to be more creativity in our passing routes, we must be able to put our offensive players
in a position to succeed. The first game did not. Lets see what the future holds for this offensive.

I have to believe OC was told we are playing it close to the vest and we will win it with defense and kicking game.
Just like the past 2 years.

This answer by Smith is much better that the one of Canada 2 years ago for the same question....And it was after the bengals game when the bengals had still Bates in their roster

It was far to be perfect but it was still better,I mean they had over 3 minutes per drive on offense in that game, one of the top in the NFL in week 1,one of the reason why the defense were still fresh in the second half

It was week 1 in a new system, so hopefully they will be better week to week. Not the time to panic yet!

Week 1, in a new system, with the backup QB.

    Doesn't matter if it's 13-10 or 33-10.......still a win.

Tomlin as HC gives high level directives to his coordinators similar to a CEO and his subordinates.
He tells his subordinates what he wants done, but not how to do it. That's up to them to figure out the best way to meet the goal.
Smith decided, given the opponent secondary, he was going to stay away from them. That's an OC decision, not a HC decision.
If you don't have a QB that can throw accurate timing passes with anticipation, you gameplan the way Smith did.

Yea that mentality seems to work well in the playoffs against good teams.

Check Wk1 passing chart for Pickett and get back to me on that.....

It was only after he found Pickett had the same accuracy problems that Fields has that they move to short, outside the numbers passing.

are you saying a 13-10 win in the playoffs isn’t a win

    You just disagreed with that

Or would you like to think about this

No I mean the we score 13 and opponents score 40 part. High seeded playoff teams don’t score 10 points that’s the part your buddy MT struggles with.

    Whack? Lordy....

    Fine, again u do.u

He's a solid coach whos time has passed here, IMO N many others

I don't troll, guy hasn't won a playoff game in 8 seasons. Even the 80s Steelers, who were brutal, won 3 playoff games in that decade. His teams have 3 in the last 13....AND 11 of those were with a prime HOF QB

    Time for change

I assume by now you found out it was the new OC who decided this and no one else

You really want to draw attention to this :lolol:

I had the wrong coach, you had it wrong completely. Coaches do decide where they want to attack the field.

Now we’ll see if they change it up from opponent to opponent but if Smith who’s offense have attacked the MOF for the teams he’s been involved with suddenly stops using that portion of the field every week as we have seen for the last several seasons, welp, I know who is behind that decision.

If he has a good game today, he’s definitely that guy.
