Kahn has bought us a few things we have been missing. In two short years.

    Secondary

    Middle LB corps

    O-line.

Possibly a reinforced D line and a partner for Minkha.

Yeah, it really seems from a distance that they put all of their eggs in one basket and believed it would eventually work out or be fine with what they have of it didn’t. I think that was a mistake then, now, and will reveal its self sooner or later.

One of Kahn’s few mistakes. But he’s earned a LOT of grace from me.

I tried telling people back then. But I also was worried about payton wilson. So let's call it a wash.

They signed him for depth. Edmunds is probably an upgrade over the last safety on their bench.

The most impressive thing was the way they generated so much pressure against a very good offensive line. Cousins is a good quarterback, but that was his first game back from a long layoff due to major injury. He was not close to his best self.

I get it but after the injury is Cousins who we think he is? They had him in Pistol alot and were concerned about putting him under center. He never really played Pistol before. I’m not sure he is completely healed up and I think that made it easier for our defense. He lacked mobility and they were pretty predictable as an offense ie. they threw the ball 90% of the time out of Pistol.

It is certainly fair to question how Cousins will come back from injury. I still don't think it is entirely accurate to label that offense as "incompetent" though, even if Cousins is a bit of a lesser version of himself. Our front 7 dominated a very good OL. Our secondary quelled a solid contingent of young weapons. I think you are correct that we will certainly face better tests than Atlanta in the future, but it was a nice start.

I’m not disputing that it was a nice start. I just want to see a couple more games before getting my hopes up. at the end of the day its about doing it consistently.

Which is also fair. I'd love to see it be a trend, since having a good secondary to go with our high end pass rush would be deadly to opposing offenses.
