we keep the pressure on and we will look good. beanie had a costly mistake but the vets have to make sure he's where he needs to be. he's a rookie. he clearly thought he had help on the backend on that one. with rookie's there will be some growing pains but i hope they teach the kid instead of bench him. bringing back edmunds kind of makes me think he goes to the bench though. i said early on we have a good secondary. i thought our pickups were quite good.

They certainly could've used DJ last Sunday, but I think they have high hopes for Roman Wilson being their #2 once he's healthy. I just hope it's sooner than later, Pickens definitely needs the help

    that read funny!!

    but I agree!!!!!

many of us had a very STRONG feeling about the UPGRADES in talent that we added. Get Sutton ready for the 2nd half and keep guys healthy.

get some production out of the offense.

    we will see.

the schedule is tough, that is a FACT

Fields would not know what to do with a passing tree , right now. he is 2 reads at, then run. Wilson might be able to do more, but that OLINE won't hold much.

Work in progress, 88 and 80 will get more and more work as the season wears on.

    Long season.

But for the first game 25 and 26 came to play. Of course 39 as well. 24 shut his side down.

The bottom line is when they get into a 3rd and long to defend they take care of business.

Cousins was uncomfortable all day with Watt coming like a runaway bull.

The real test will be when the pass rush doesn't get there. Can the secondary hold up their end?

He might eventually be a good No. 2, but counting on a rookie taken in the third round to fill that role was foolish.

The rush was part of the discomfort for Cousins, but I don't think he was fully back from the torn Achilles. He usually moves better than that. He also seemed hesitant on some plays and pressed on others, which is understandable given the circumstances.

Yeah Johnson really had a great debut for the Panthers, 2 catches for 19 yards, lol.

His quarterback situation got even worse. Young is just awful. Johnson is still a hell of a lot better than Jefferson and the collection of scrubs the team currently has behind Pickens.

I understand what you're saying, obviously they have no idea what they have in Roman Wilson because he hasn't even been able to play yet. Bottom line, they should've been doing everything they can to acquire a #2 after they got rid of DJ, because there's a steep drop off in the WR room after Pickens. Maybe guys like Wilson (when healthy), or Jefferson can step up to fill that #2 position until then, but that's a big maybe at this point.

I think Scotty Miller is a step up from Jefferson.

Let's hope so, because they're going to need Miller, or someone else to step up and fill the #2 void

Definitely the best secondary we've had since Haden, Fitz and Nelson in 2020.

This is very premature. Lets wait and see how we do against a competent offense. I am cautiously optimistic but we need more evidence.

Agreed, but with the other players He didn't stand out too bad....well except a few times. I seen 6 our new addition from Baltimore having trouble getting Him in the right place a few times. Hopefully He will get better.

To be fair, no secondary can hold up without a pass rush. The NFL rules are designed this way. If your QB has enough time he will complete a pass. This is what made Ben so good.

Question, since I wasn't able to watch the game (but that Giants/Vikings game was a barn burner)-
I look in the box score and only see six d-backs with a state line- Four starters, nickel cb, and dime safety. Did any of the young guys play?

Is that why some people pick Steelers to finish 7-10?

To be fair, the Falcons do have a pretty competent offense. They have a good QB in Cousins, a really good young RB1, a nice young WR1, and an athletic receiving TE in Pitts. Not to mention they have a consensus top 5 OL in the whole league. I get we made them look pretty bad, but our defense dominated a really nice looking unit. It may take the Falcons a few weeks to get going, but it isn't like we faced Bryce Young and the Panthers... That is a pretty solid offensive unit we made look bad out there.

If we had a good secondary why did they sign Edmunds

Things that make you go hmmm

Although if I have a 2 and throw it away and get a 3 my hand got better

Yep, hopefully lessons learned and play improves. On that TD either he was playing zone and they were in man or a major blown coverage.
