Patterson had more run...I hope it will not be the norm and it was because he was not at 100% yet and the steelers were just cautious....

The one successful run he had when he was giving Harris a breather after a tough run that I believe was called back on a penalty I saw him walk back to lineup and his walk seemed off. Don't know how to describe it other than like he was favoring a sore foot or leg. He looked like me when my back is just ever so slightly out and pinches a nerve down my left leg to my foot and feel hobbled.

I don't think he is at 100% and might have rushed back out of some misplaced fear.

Yeah, not a great day. Three RB's combined for 90 yards rushing on 26 carries. And 3 receptions for 20 yards.

I wasn't too impressed with this new offense. This looked like more of the same; a couple of jump balls to George, and not much else. Even with his 57 yards rushing, Fields barely broke 200 yards of offense. They didn't crack the red zone till 8 minutes left in the GAME. At least we got a couple plays with some run-action.

It was precisely, to a supernatural level, what I expected to see. The Steelers have become so predictable that I didn't even need to watch the game.

It seems like we hire 20th century OC's in the 21st century. I just don't get it.

I'd like to see more creativity and flow as well. But, Falcons defense is pretty decent. On the road with Fields in his first game as a Steelers it's not very surprising that they went with a conservative game plan. Maybe they would open it up more for Russ? I honestly prefer a conservative game plan using Fields athleticism over potentially seeing Wilson get sacked 9 times. I think Wilson deserves a shot, but nice to have an athlete back there while this offensive line tries to gel.

All I can say is I hope Warren heals up, and I Love the Guy, but this is what some tried saying when people were saying He should get more carries over Najee......that maybe....just maybe His body won't be able to handle it. That said.....I hope , and pray that He is completely healthy because they work very well together.

Warren is coming off of a soft tissue injury, it’s common sense to ease him back in, it’s a long season. It felt like the hand offs to Harris were delayed or started too deep. He’s a quick hit quick to the line type back rather than a pitch back end arounder. Warren’s carries will pick up soon.

Pardon, crying? Is this not a discussion board? Feel free to use the ignore option, pal.

Actually, you know what, you're right. Let's get some positivity going on this board. Let's get giddy! Indulge me if you would, tell us all the things that you loved about this new, awesome, super effective offense.

I'll get some hot cocoa, cuddle up, and and read your observations with the same amount of wonder as when I read Lord of the Rings as a kid. I'm SURE that it will be overflowing with mystifying insight, and extremely positive commentary on the orgasmic glory that is this new offense.

I can't wait to bath in the succulence of Mashburn fully flexing. Mashburn in god mode. I know you won't let us down and blow it off with a smart-ass comment. That would be disappointing.

Let’s not forget he appears to have issues playing under center which significantly changes the run game and hinders the play action game.

He needs to be going north and south. These runs are "Warren" type runs... Ones where the back finds a hole and explodes through it. Najee is VERY clunky east to west, and is really only efficient AFTER he hits the second level. It just doesn't mesh well with Najee's style (and truly Najee Harris is just an early 2000's RB living in the mid 2020's). Remember the pitch that Warren housed last year for 74 yards in Cleveland? This is what we are looking for. Not Najee plodding down the line, taking a slight veer towards the line and grabbing us a weak yard or two...

I agree that his snap count was effected by his injury. Glad we had him back, but no reason to rush him when our RB room is deep. He's going to have 12-15 carry games later in the season and we are going to need him healthy for it.

And Najee still led the team in explosive running plays last season .

He led the team in carries... so theoretically it would be a massive problem if he didn't, would it not?

Najee had 8 rushes of 20+ yards on 255 carries and a long of 25. Warren had 6 on 149 and a long of 74(TD).

I just don't understand all the Najee love when there was so much Terrell Edmunds hate. These are literally the same caliber dude. Good enough to be out there, easy to replace.

No, they are not the same guy. Harris is one of the top 10 running backs in the NFL. The numbers back that up. Edmunds was never anywhere near the top 10 safeties in the NFL. Harris has also come through with big plays with games on the line, even playoff spots on the line. Edmunds didn't do that.

Warren also fumbled more while carrying the ball less. That matters, too.

I like both backs. I would have preferred to have them both for this season and next, but if you are going to call on one of them to carry the load, Harris is the one who has proven he can do it.

    I like them both too.

Khan and Tomlin and Smith see it differently.

We have them both this year.

Next year is a change in backfield, most likely.

I still believe Khan is abandoning the good in pursuit of the perfect, which can be a mess when that pursuit fails. See the wide receiver group outside of Pickens this season.

that WR group might be just fine, when we have a QB that can drop back and throw passes. jury still out.

    and Roman Wilson.

sit tight there, Scribe, sit tight.

    young offense in many respects.

was time for DJ to hit the road, and his replacement made an impact on Sunday - Nasty D, if you read the thread. Can't have it all.

LoL. Because We have eyes. You are comparing a guy that has had over a 1000 yards rushing in the last 3 year......remember before You say anything......that no other rb has......with a team that nobody respects the pass......You are comparing Him with a Guy that
    1. Got let go from the team that drafted Him number 1
    2. Has been cut by every team He has played with since......and drumroll....
    3. We picked on when we played Him......
Now please make that comparison make sense.

I don't expect an All Pro at every position. I do expect a viable starter. Right now they don't have that, which was a rare poor job by Khan. I think he believed he could find a competent replacement. He failed.
