Nice draft, BUT we need some skill position players (WR, RB) in the first four rounds. I wouldn't be surprised to see us go WR in round one and RB in round 2.

i would be dissapointed if we went wr or rb in first two rounds. we need to sure up some positions that have been ignored for to long. saftey for one

Safety is pretty deep this year while wr isn't. We can grab a wr in the first an still get a quality safety in the 2nd. A running back in the first 4 rounds would be a bit of a disappointment to me. Their careers are too short to justify taking one in te first couple rounds.

We need a lot of positions filled. WR is definitely one of them and probably rb if we are going to use zone blocking as it's been talked about, assuming Mendy doesn't come back. I think Wallace is as good as gone so definitely need a WR. Offense far underachieved last year and with the loss of Wallace we need to give Ben another weapon. I wouldn't mind a WR in the second. I posted a link with a list of 10 wr that we could get, I liked about 6 of them so not sure how many would be there in the 3rd which is the latest I would wait.

I'm hoping that the Steelers consider keeping Mendy IF he's willing to re-sign for a reasonable amount. It sounds like he'd be a good fit for the zone blocking scheme we plan to employ next year. I'd have discussions about him re-signing on a relatively short-term for a reasonable sum and allowing him to prove himself as a good performer on the field and a good teammate off the field, i.e. showing up for games! As for Wallace, I'm perfectly fine with him going to the Raiders or some other team that over-emphasizes speed at the expense of everything else.

I'd be ok with giving Mendy another shot especially given the situation we are in, rather not spend a draft pick on a player that can do the job that's already here, question is will he sign for a reasonable amount. Hopefully he can put last season drama behind him and have a good season, many think he would excel in a zone blocking scheme. As for Wallace, I saw your comment in an earlier post about not taking his clone, I knew you'd be the one to say something about that, either you are blountforcetrauma :lolol:

it still amazes me that people want a wr early. i know we need one but lets face it antonio is our nunber 1. he is paid like it and deserves it. if we draft a reciever at one he has to produce like a #1. although i dont think a wr in this draft is worth the 17th pick, when his contract is up he will want #1 money like plax and holmes. then we r right back where we r now. we can pay one but not two. i say with this new offense we dont need to take one high. we can find one in late rounds.

wr is plenty deep in this draft. manny sanders is also a fine wr. he and brown are the go to guys. now get a coach that can bring out their best.

I don't see many people clamoring for a wr in the 1st rd. And lets worry about paying them 4 years down the road, we could be in a much better position cap wise by then, in the mean time, that's 4 years of help. We need a wr, we don't even know how good AB will do when teams start focusing the double teams on him. I'm not confident at all with our current set of wr's, especially after last year.

I'm not fan of that draft.. Elam is a reach in the 1st IMO and I'm not sold on Johnson.. I like Jones in the 2nd though..
