Crazy obsession? Two main factors to winning games explosive plays and turnovers.

I’m thinking that QB’s and OC’s have come and gone but the passing chart remains the same. I don’t know where else to look but at Tomlin.

It was one game and someone pointed out Atlanta has good safeties so maybe this will change but if it is by design by Tomlin then he is undercutting what Smith likes to do as he has employed the MOF in his offenses normally.

It’s not even just the lack of use of the MOF but also there were only 4 passes further than 10 yards. I know part of that is how defenses will attack an offense but are they really locking things down so much you only had 4 opportunities to throw down the field. Seems more to me to be an offensive philosophy.

I in no way believe Tomlin is dictating not to pass to the middle of the field that’s just foolish talk

I pointed out that in preseason Fields could/would not throw to open receivers down field

In hind site the open receivers I observed were midfield (sometimes waiving their arm)

Don't blame Tomlin for this one

    Fields.1

I told you this before I watched this in preseason but you have yourself convinced he had a good preseason

QB has to be able to read the defense to use the middle of the field. One read and run limits you.

It’s Tomlin, been going on for years. When you remove all else, it’s the one thing that remains.

I saw him do some good things out there, but I wasn't exactly blown away though. I said that I saw some signs of improvement in him, that's more than I can say about the coaching

Which could be one of the reasons they want him to start. If they aren’t going to be throwing there anyway then it doesn’t matter if Wilson doesn’t make use of that part of the field.

    Sure

Now he’s telling quarterbacks not to throw to open receivers

Another tin foil hat member

I know coaches do not tell quarterbacks not to throw to open receivers

I know coaches do not tell quarterbacks to use half the field

That's the narrative on him for sure. Heard Ryan Clark echo that same sentiment on a radio program last week.

Fields is another KFP… only thing Fields has is his legs. This was painfully noticeable while he was at Chicago. Some really believe that the Steelers were going to fix him.
But, we won the game. I remain at lower expectations for this team. Everyone talked about KFPS tiny hands, what about Fields when he lines up behind center and muffs the snaps? 3 times now, 2 in preseason and 1 on the very first snap of the game in regular season. Waiting for all blame shifted to the center in 3.2.1….

Fields cross field throw proves he is allowed to throw anywhere

Drop the conspiracy theories some of you look really foolish

Agree 100% with the down field aspect you brought up. I'm sure we were all screaming in unison during the game to throw the damn ball down field more. At the very least, it keeps the defense honest.

Both these qbs have the same bad tendencies that KFP had. But, one can run, but saying that, Russ led league in getting sacked last yr and you guessed it our mobile qb Fields was #2. Baffling, if your O line is that bad and you are athletic and elusive why are you getting sacked so much? Short answer… no pocket presence, runs into sacks as much as KFP did.
