Either one of these runningbacks would look good in black and gold

Le'Veon Bell of Michigan State goes 6'2 240lbs and Eddie Lacy of Alabama 5'10 220lbs to bring back the physical running game to the Steelers. One of these guys might be available in the 2nd rd.

I wouldn't be bummed if we took one of those guys, but I think Bell is easily there in the 3rd, maybe the 4th. I prefer Stepfan Taylor - a true 3 down back. Really, there are a bunch of solid feature back prospects in this draft, but no stars. I could be Ok with any one of 4 or 5 of them. I also really like Kerwynn Williams as a 2nd RB in this draft, but he's more of a direct replacement for Rainey as a speed guy and kick returner.

I'd prefer Stepfan Taylor on the 2nd day or Zac Stacey on the 3rd day of the draft..

as much as i like lacy, we have him on the roster all ready. redman and dwyer are like lacy and bell. lacy may have more speed but he has this spin move he used on 90% of his runs in college. he does that in the nfl he gets killed.

redman and dwyer are not signed yet. i'd like to see some speed at the position as well as a bruiser. we should be looking deep for a guy or two that will be brought in to compete. i like stacey late. as elvis said there are good backs all the way through, just not great backs at any spot. heck i like two of the top FB's ranked also as RB's pryor and line. added with some speed guys of course.

While I didnt see a lot of them play much...I liked what I saw of Taylor and have been hoping for him...Lacy...could be a solid guy/etc too...but who knows. The others...eh...i dunno if they can be the guy or not. A lot of mocks have us taking that Randle guy from OK ST. And of course theres Ball...but he just worries me (with all the wear on his tires so to speak)....but who knows...they definitely need to find THE GUY...and not so much committee BS.

i really wouldn't mind pryor. i think he's more then capable as a feature back. you also have the backup to will johnson if he were to go down. pryors got some game to him as a runner and receiver. nice size and speed mix too.

Lonnie Pryor, Florida State - generally listed as a FB on most draft web sites. Good player. He's a tweener between a FB and a RB, and he really flashed as a ballcarrier this past season, although he didn't get many touches. I'd be good with him, but in addition to a more proven RB, not instead of.

he was the orange bowl MVP with 124 yds. rushing in that one. he's used as a blocking FB and a RB and a receiver. well rounded. 6-0 230 4.54 good kid too and smart. he's got good cut- back ability and gets through the hole quick.

    Mac,
I'm feeling Pryor more and more now if the rumors are true and we shift to a primarily zone blocking scheme. He looks like a good, decisive one cut and go kind of runner who will do well in a ZBS.

The Steelers are going to take a RB, but I don't think
they will take one until the later rounds possibly after the
the 4th. There are just to many other needs the Steelers need to address
before RB. Although this is big need also. WE need to find
guys like the Washington Redskins found. There out there you have
    to find them.

he's healthy too. he's fast too for his size and catches the ball well. pass protection is great. he's well rounded. i do like him. i could see the steelers doubling up on a couple of spots. they have before. oregon ran the oregon zone i was reading about. guys like barner are built for it. i've been watching alot of stuff on which RB's in this draft fit the bill in the ZBS. not just any of these backs will do. micheal is one canidate. pryor is one. stacey could be. graham. barner, ellington. bell actually is not a bad one cut guy. those are the best at it i've seen so far.

You're crazy. Lacy has more talent than both of them combined.

There's a ton of talent at RB in this draft, particularly in rounds 2-4... Which is why I don't want us to take Lacy, but that being said, if we traded down and got him I'd be pretty stoked.
