Payton Wilson Appreciation Thread

Payton Wilson is going to be awesome. I can't wait to see how this kid develops.

 

He might have been the best bargain on the defensive side in the '24 draft.

 

Payton Wilson will be a monster in time. For that matter, that may happen sooner rather than later. Just gotta stay healthy.

 

Agreed. He was excellent. I love the expectations he puts on himself. He was a little slow getting to the ball on one short pass that converted a third down. He made the tackle, but got up pissed that he didn't stop the Falcons from reaching the line to gain.

He looked fast. I didn't see any glaring errors, though I think he didn't get deep enough on that one ball McCloud caught to start the Falcons' touchdown drive.

 

He’s going to be a monster.

 

Ok ill eat crow. I don't think injuries will bother him. He still performed and wasn't scared.

 

I bet it is only a couple more games before he starts in Robert's place. I think Roberts will still get some run, but Wilson looks too good to keep on the sideline. Love to see it.

 

I think he saved a TD, maybe the game on that one tackle.

 

Looked solid, seemed to play a bunch of snaps.

 

Boy I hope he can stay healthy, plays the game well.

 

He seemed to play more than Roberts.

 

ILB, Strong Safety and CB looks improved so far. Steelers D is gonna be great as long as the big 4 stay healthy....Watt, Fitzpatrick, Hayward and JPJ.

 

Roberts? Queen did nothing today.

Yeah, Roberts. He's a fine player, but much more limited than Queen. A Wilson/Queen pairing will look great out there

 

Definitely agree. I thought our secondary looked awesome. Aside from what appeared to be a voided zone by Beanie Bishop, they were fantastic. Couple of picks by our new pick ups in Elliott and Jackson....Front 7 got plenty of pressure too. Couldn't have been a better start for the defense. They dominated today.

Wilson was definitely our best ILB today.

 

I wanted to see more from Queen with Bijan Robinson running the ball effectively.

 

Queen had 2 tackles Roberts stat sheet was straight 0's.

 

He still only had 3.8 YPC. It felt like we weren't stopping the run super effectively at times, but we actually weren't doing too badly at all.

 

I can't recall seeing Roberts even on the field today but Wilson was flying around the ball carrier all afternoon.

 

It all comes down to how his health.

I feel odds are high he will get hurt again, but I pray he doesn’t.

 

How about Benton? He was suppose to make that huge jump from year 1-2

 

benton is in year 2. queen got paid, was the big FA pickup, played the whole game. very disappointed in his play. he played like this in the preseason and i even commented that i thought it was just him playing not to get hurt in the preseason, but it seems as though it wasn't that at all. he played the exact same way sunday. he needs to pick it up. the kid flew all over the field.
