If he starts to break it, go tackle him,” Flacco told tight end Dennis Pitta.
    “Really?” Pitta said.
“I don’t know,” Flacco added. “I mean what else — what could they — I don’t know. I mean, they might be able to give him a touchdown on that, but I don’t know.”
Proving it was hardly a joke, Flacco then rallied other teammates. “Hey, if he breaks it, if he busts this for some reason, tackle him. Go tackle him. I don’t know what the rule is on that, but . . . .”
Though the response isn’t audible, a teammate apparently said something along the lines of, “Lead the way, Bert.” (That’s my half-joking guess at what was said, not a quote.)
“I will,” Flacco then said. “I’m going to.”

if it was against us, and he came off the bench and made the tackle, we would have been flagged for a helmet to helmet hit on their qb and been assesed a 15 yd. penalty for it.

Saw that last night on SFX on NFL Network. Was actually pretty funny. I have to admit. I hate the Ravens just like everyone else here (as you can see by my name). Flacco though I am kind of finding him to be pretty cool. Seems like a down to earth type of guy and you can tell he has a dry sense of humor which I like. Same a Rodgers. Even though he broke my heart a few years ago I have always found him to be cool as well. His picture bombing thing he does is pretty funny. Funniest thing in the SFX show was Matt Birk. After the power outage was over they showed the ref saying it is time to start again. They showed Birk on the sideline and he says "We now resume the Super Bowl".Most guys in the NFL are great guys. Tough to hate on them at times. Others though make it easy like you know who.

Remember when Cowher made a motion to tackle a guy racing down the sideline for a TD? Classic :lolol:

So really what would have happened? Would they have given him a TD or just a 15 yard penalty or what?

Would probably depend on how open he was and how it looked to the ref. I imagine there's a rule in place where the ref could award the TD. Despite what Flacco said, I can't see any players doing that though. Don't blame him for thinking it.
