Watt had a TD in that KC blowout but both him and Hayward are either hurt or invisible for playoff games.

"walk into games we should win" ...???

Did you forget the fact that the Steelers played JAX earlier in the same season and were completely crushed in that one too? What makes you think they should have won the playoff?

yep - Colbert sucked his last 6, 7 seasons.

it all stunk - a dead body rotting in the trunk

we are far away from Steelers tradition over the prior ~30 years.

mediocrity is now the accepted norm. no one is held accountable and Rooney does not care.

and yes - Ben is to bear some of the responsibility, as you noted. Some. but that D in 2017 failed terribly. Again, and i have listed the roster - LOTS of talent there. POOR coaching, POOR.

mmmmm - that they (the Steelers) were the BETTER Team, perhaps? An early season loss does not mean you will lose in January.

in fact, you LEARN from the loss and game plan off of it.

but Tomlin is not a good learner

13-3, home playoff game, Ben vs. Bortles.... We were a MUCH better team than them. Who cares if they beat us in a game earlier in the season? Week 5 doesn't matter in the playoffs, and teams beat teams they should lose to all the time. Denver beat up on KC last year in the regular season, should we have EXPECTED them to waltz into KC in a playoff game this past season (had they made it) and beat them handily? No. Of course not.

It was an embarrassment to lose a game that we ABSOLUTELY should have won in the manner that we did. We showed up completely unprepared and I feel like it is hard to blame anyone other than the coaching staff on it. Its easy to blame the coaching staff when we did the EXACT SAME THING a few years later in a home playoff game vs the Brows. We got outcoached in both cases and lost games we should have won easily. Those are the facts.

Im sure looking ahead to the Pats in the AFCCG before the jags game was even played tbrew them for a loop too.

yeah Tomlin should've been done aftwr that fiasco.

Has done nothing since. This shot with Wilson really should be his last hurrah. Maybe the Steelers could buy out his last year.

Yea, but the Steelers had Roethlisberger is the shallow argument back. LOL.
And at the time of the game the Steelers were fielding the vaunted Sean Spence, Sean Davis and Mike Mitchell on defense. Enough to make one hurl .....

    no, they did not.

    played is wussy division.

We were the better Team. Maybe best team in the league that year, altho NE would have beat us, they always did.

closet Jags fan, I see. Blake Bortles. BLAKE BORTLES, future....nothing.

And the Jaguars only played 4 playoff teams in the regular season and if you include the playoffs the Jaguars had 20 points or less against every playoff team that played outside of Pittsburgh,I mentioned this to him in the past but he completely ignored that point

The steelers offense had a slow start in 2017 but they were on fire in the second half of the season

the Tomlin defenders never cease to amaze me.

you are correct - slow start, Ben joked about retiring after the first Jax game, yes - they struggled early. But were a juggernaut - top 2-3 by seasons end.

Blake Bortles - you kidding me, BLAKE BORTLES??!?!?!

Strummer - still on his I’m right everybody else is wrong routine. Hasn’t missed a beat. I knew coming out of the locker room that the Jags were more prepared than the Steelers that game. One team took the game seriously and one team overlooked the opponent. The Steelers thought they were already rolling on to NE.

Jacksonville scored more points and allowed fewer points. They were the better team. Oh yes we had Ben. The guy that turned the ball over how many times?

weak schedule, come on Strummer, look beyond the simplistic.

    we play in the AFCN.

Jax did have a great defense, that is for sure. Iron met steel and steel wilted. was a despicable day.

This may have already been said before in this thread but laying the blame in Spence and VW is pretty much a load of crap. Jags ran all over us in the reg season when Shazier was in there.

we shouldve known what they were going to do and been prepared. Play the safety up more. Jam the wr’s…the ILB core was serviceable up to that point. We beat a tough Ravens team and dominated the Texans.

Its simply the jags were more prepared than we were. Like 86 above said. We were full of ourselves a bit and it cost us.

correct - running their mouths pre-game outside the Jags locker room, if I recall? idiot mike mitchell and his shenanigans, right?

defensively clueless. Butler and Tomlin at minimum should have been canned at 4:30 that afternoon.

You should probably learn to think before you speak. Or in this specific instance type. In 2017 the vaunted afc north consisted of the 9-7 ravens, 7-9bengals, and 0-16 browns. Still want to talk about a weak schedule?

Again, the jaguars had scored 20 points or under in every game against playoffs team that year outside of Pittsburgh...Just ask Dick LeBeau who was the DC of the titans that year who had the best offense between steelers and jaguars in 2017
