I predict the Steelers will lose 2 out of the first 3 games.

The game they win?.... your choice, cause this offense is nowhere near ready for football. Last I checked you have to have an offense to score points. Unless of course, the defense starts out with a blaze and scores for them.

In the first month of games here are the Steelers avg pts/gm:

    Season AvgPts
    2023 15.5
    2022 18.5
    2021 16.8
    2020 29.5
    2019 19.0
    2018 25.5
    2017 22.5

That was funny and it's kind of what I was thinking when I posted a low scoring affair in the real predict the score thread.

Well I believe I said the day he was hired how dumb it was.
Well in 2021 Ben threw for 22 tds with him as the oc
In 2022 Pickett, and Trubisky combined for 11 tds thrown. LoL
Hell Ben's last year at Qb with Canada as the OC....he almost threw the same amount of Tds as Pickett, and Trubisky did added together for two years, but yeah.... It was all the OC.
I don't know how our points per game was higher in 22 than in 21. I guess our run tds were way higher.

The emergence of Jaylen Warren is probably the biggest reason. Being able to keep Najee fresh and how efficient and explosive he was added a lot to our ability to run the ball. However, the biggest reason for our rushing surge at the end of the season was Broderick Jones. We averaged over a full YPC higher with Jones on the field than we did without him in 2023... not a coincidence IMO (and the main reason why we should be starting Jones and not Moore when Fautanu is ready to take the RT position).

I got the Steelers beating the dirty birds, but it will be because of the defense. I say the defense is +2 in turnovers and this is the only way this team wins. Problem is and we seen this before this strategy works fine until week 5 or 6 when by that time the defense has played 65% of the snaps for those games. Then Watt gets hurt, Heyward is sucking wind and same old same old happens. Offense can’t sustain drives, 3 and outs mount up and please don’t expect half time adjustments, Tomlin will have 1 bad challenge per game and then we limp into the bye week. After the bye all hell breaks loose 5-6 game losing streak to end the year. Christmas will not be a happy time in 2024 for Steeler fans.

If they lose, I swear Tomlin better not spew his same old "it's an early game and isn't important" crap.

It's important at the end of the season when you miss the playoffs by 1 or even 1/2 of a game, no matter when the loss occurred.

The hiring of Arthur Smith will mean nothing if the Steelers don't demolish the Falcons in Game 1.
And...........beating the Falcons will mean nothing if it doesn't eventually lead to #7 in Feb '25.

(There I got it out of the way.)
