Khan's black eye. Give me DJ as WR #1, and being on the clock at #20 with all CBs still available.

The QBs getting injured isn't all on the OL either, I guess you don't remember Pickett running into sacks. If the OL is so bad how did they manage to average 145 yards a game rushing the second half of last season.

But DJ could make defenses pay for double covering Pickens, the rest of the receivers on the roster not so much.

We won’t ever know the entire story, but if Johnson was causing issues behind the scenes, then he needed to go, regardless of his production.

The Steelers have done this with a number of other WRs over the years.

My point is you bring in a veteran QB like Wilson because you want to win in the playoffs, why get rid of the #2 WR? Yeah, DJ is a pain in the ass just let him walk after the season.

I trust the numbers coming out of the NFL Combine.

I guess I see it differently. The entire season won’t hinge on DJ. Frankly, I think the more important factors are the o-line, implementation of a new OCs offense, and how the QBs play.

Sure, DJ’s play would have helped the offense, but at what cost to the locker room?

Based on this, and supposing we would have gone your route in Round 1, I am assuming you would have been fine entering the season with Dan Moore at LT and Broderick Jones at RT, which would setup no long term plan at tackle (with Dan Moore in a contract year and probably not deserving a renewal).

This is all just hindsight. We don't know the plans, and if we end up with the next AB in the draft next season no one is going to fret. There is still a lot of football left this year and crying because we weren't able to adequately replace or upgrade DJ doesn't mean that Khan is a failure or any of that. He is in the process of re-building this team and it isn't done overnight. WE have 0 idea what the actual plans are and we'd still have holes if we did what you are mentioning now. We'd be covered at WR and CB, but we'd still be crying about how this team barely cares about the OL because we were pinning Jones to RT for another season, have Dan Moore (who is a very poor starting LT) as our starter and no succession plan on the roster. Now we have the hole at WR2, but are set for the immediate future at OT and CB. It was always a pick your poison.

On a side note, it doesn't appear that the 49ers were ever interested in dealing Aiyuk. Even if we traded DJ for Aiyuk, we'd still be picking between OT and CB on which hole we had on our roster. We'd also be talking about how Pickens was going to be as good as gone in the future. At this point, I'd rather just keep our picks and try for a WR early in the draft. If we do that, there's no reason to not try to sign Dak to a deal to play for SB's the next 4 years. Just my two cents.

Right now Dan Moore is being praised, because he has currently looked like the best O-Lineman on the team. The regular season may Change that. I am sure PFF will show he is still the worst O-lineman with their "Almost Got There" stats.

    My bad. Wrong Wilson.
Roman listed at 5'10 1/2" 185 lbs. Pretty much a copy of DJ.
Steelers know about DJ's route running. They clearly felt it was replaceable.

Why do people make a big deal out of DJ being able to run a route

That’s what receivers are supposed to do

Receivers are also supposed to score touchdowns

    D J scored 5 in two years

    Highly replaceable

5'11", didn't know his height. He had great mobility in the past which negated the height. Now I hope he can jump up when passing.;)

Lineman on both sides of the ball generally don't pick it all up until their third season regardless. Not everyone can come into the league and perform like RaShawn Slater. Hell, Andrew Thomas, one of the best Left Tackles in all of Football, didn't start out this way.

Fans in New York called him a bust after only his Rookie Season. Grew a great degree in year two but was a monster in 2022. Last season was a bit of a down season for him but I'd imagine that he will bounce back.

We discussed this already, no effing way Adams elects to come here and play with a team that has no qbs. He will jet off to the Jets and his pal Aaron
