I always thought mason to be a true class act and individual. I wish him nothing but the best.

It definitely played a part, and I mentioned it in my post too... He's only appeared in 41 of 51 games with the Cards, so he certainly had some issues, but I do think that performance had a bit to do with it too. The Steelers were dead last in 2020 in total rushing yards and rushing yards per attempt and 29th in rushing scores. I firmly believe that we thought upgrading our RB position was going to fix this, when in hindsight, we should have been drafting OL instead of a RB.

Well, it wasn’t hindsight for many of us out here who wanted one of the available OL that year.

Yeah… actually I think Newsome was #1 on my board when we drafted Harris. Humphrey was close, and was easily #1 on my board when we drafted Freiermuth.

Well, Surtain went 9th overall so he was long gone when we picked Harris.

LoL . I don't want to talk about it. LoL. I believe we are two draft picks away from being a great secondary. I believe we can be OK to good with it now.....because of the pass rush, but not great. JMO

Newsome is a fine player, but not really an "awesome" one. It might have been a better use of the pick than on Harris, but I am not 100% sold either. It really wasn't an awesome draft for CB's that year. We probably would have been better off with Dickerson or Eichenburg in the first (or a trade down) and then take Humphrey in the second. Freiermuth would've been a fine pick too if we went with OL in the first and didn't want to double dip on the line.

The 2022 draft was probably the best when we could've had McDuffie instead of Pickett (or gone OL with Linderbaum). DaRon Bland was taken in the 5th that draft. Could've gone that direction for CB for sure.

At last year's draft and at that point in time I would have looked hard at all the CBs before selecting TF. The entire class of CB was there taking the pick of the litter.

Joking aside, Mason may be one of the better backups in the league right now. But if Levis stays upright next couple seasons we may never hear the name Mason Rudolph again.

    well -

    If and but.

But if he stuggles - let's say TN starts 2-4, Mason may get the nod. Was not impressed watching Levis last year, esp. when we played him.

Levi really didn’t have a good training camp and his stats were actually worse than Malik Willis who was traded. Levi tries to do things with his strong arm and athleticism. His running and throwing results in a lot of turnovers. He doesn’t have the anticipation and accuracy of elite passers like Brady or even Mahomes. His style makes him prone to injuries and he is not Big Ben that he can take big hits. Bubby Brister is what he is.

More ifs and buts... Titans may not win until November vs the Patriots. I don't think it will be because of Levis though.

What this tells me is that the Bills, Titans and Eagles are one dirty hit (or clean hard hit) away from implosion and total 2024 failure. What a putrid group of awfulness at backup QB.

I don`t get the love for Rudolph unless you are talking about the reindeer.

A long learning curve and a low ceiling. Never could have been an average starter, even if a team stuck with him through thick and thin, and who would ever do that?

    Capable backup or less IMO.

Anyway, who cares anymore? We are done with him.

Maybe... It took Josh Allen a few years to figure it out, but when he did he figured it out to the tune of a top 3 QB in the game. I am less concerned about his camp and would be curious to see if he develops at all this year. If he improves, there is no reason to think that he might be in line for a year 3 or 4 break out.
