Whats new, everytime a QB wins a super bowl they are elite for 1 year, I thought Aaron Rodgers could walk on water after he won, then Eli became a HOFER after he won his second SB, they keep Ben in the conversation but after his legal problems stemming from sexual allegations he became cryptonite.....

Flacco is hot right now. He looked incredible in the playoffs... Like a totally diff QB.

If he continues to play at that level I'd say he's top 3-5... but I say lets wait to see if he keeps it up.

Flacco throws the ball up and they get the penalty call or the receiver goes to get the ball. His receivers made him look better.

Receivers are supposed to make QBs look better. It's their job.

Joe Flacco said he was ELITE.. and USA today printed his claim..

[h=2]Joe Flacco has said he's among the elite quarterbacks in the NFL, and his performance in this postseason proves it.[/h][IMG]
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco was named Super Bowl XLVII MVP

    • Flacco's agent says he deserves to be paid with the elite NFL quarterbacks.

When the Baltimore Ravens' field general suggested last spring that he was an elite quarterback there was a lot of polite coughing, except where there were outright guffaws. How could a quarterback who'd never been to a Pro Bowl, let alone a Super Bowl, think he was elite?

Looks like the rats are going to have to come up with some huge bucks to satisfy his agents claim he now has to be paid like an elite QB, look out payroll cap, here comes Joe the elite QB, he,he,he....I'm willing to bet he wont sign a franchise tag, and he will be a holdout if he doesnt get a deal done before training camp opens...

I don't care what he's considered to be, but he sure played at an elite level throughout the playoffs. He played lights out, gotta give him that

Ben sucked his 1st superbowl win. Was top notch his 2nd. And like Ben, Flacco has taken his team to enough AFC Championship games to shake a stick at and they're usually on our butt for the playoffs.

I really see no reason to claim Flacco is not great unless you argue Ben isn't all that great either.

i'm curious to see which kind of tag the rats will put on him : if is transitional (15milion) or non exclusive (20milion) , if i'm ozzie i would put the first one and see if somebody buy on it and give two first rounders

Well first, Flacco had some really good protection in the playoffs this year from his line. Individually their linemen are all really good, but they weren't playing too well in the regular season. He hardly got touched the past few weeks, just imagine if Ben had that... We all know if Harrison gets to him a few times he does get rattled...

and Ravens WILL lose some linemen this offseason and 1 or 2 of his receivers...most likely Jacoby Jones or Boldin. Ravens could also lose their center and Left Tackle to retirement. Those will be BIG losses, I predict he has a down year next year.

Second, Hodge is a total Steeler Homer and it wouldn't surprise me if he did rank them like this to motivate Ben...

Cut him a little bit of a break, Scott. He's used to watching the Steelers receivers, most notably Wallace, who apparently believe when the ball is in the air they have no legal right to it.

All I know is that Ben is on record of saying that its one of his dreams to be the superbowl MVP. I know in XL he didnt get it, and he shouldnt have. In XLIII I think he should have been the MVP, and he was kind of cheated out of it. But I never thought the Joe Flacco would be one before Ben. I hope this gets Ben fired up, because out of all the Elite Qb's that people name with Brady, both Mannings, Drew Brees, and now Flacco, and Roethlisberger. Ben is the only one missing that award, and the HOF voters will surely look at that when it comes Bens time. Not saying he wont ever get in, but thats one thing his resume is missing, and I hope he is fired up to try and change that!

Facts are facts, Flacco has lead his team to the playoffs every year, has the most playoff wins and is now a Superbowl Champion QB that hasn't thrown an int this post-season while throwing 18 Td's. The game isn't too big for him and he makes smart decisions consistenly all the while having the best deep ball in the league.

Yep, right now he is the best QB and he has earned the right to be in the "elite conversation". I really could care less about flacco compared to whoever. I'm actually really happy his playoff run so good and he's the SB MVP.Why? I hate they won but since they did what can help the Steelers/ Flaccos rise of course in a contract year. He'll get 20 mil a year now. That leads to less money for others in a salary capped environment. Welcome to our world ravens. Lets see how ya'll deal with it the next 6 yrs.

flacco won it this year and was a dropped pass right in the receivers hands for a TD away from going to the SB last year. why wouldn't he be ranked above ben right now?

Seriously. I wish everyone around here would stop with the sour grapes. Flacco played as well as Brady, Montana, whoever you want to say... in this season's playoffs. He was incredible. That's a FACT. You just sound petty.

I try not to be some brainless homer whe it comes to football. You're better than that Steelers fans!
