Detroit game really wasn't a fair chance. He played with one day notice in pouring rain. He actually outplayed Goff. Juju and Friermuth fumbles in scoring territory didn't help.

 

OMG!!! Did you not see him play the last six years?? He was handed the team when Ben had surgery and they ended up using the Duck cause he was so bad. The guy was 5 second slower in the 40 than Kasey Hampton! He looked like Herman Munster moving around the pocket. WTF

 

Why didn’t Mason do it the year Ben was hurt?

 

Maybe it is just bad timing? When exactly was Mason supposed to get in there any more than he did? He wasn't going to sit Ben. Kenny was taken in the 1st round, and at that point in history NOBODY was saying we should start Mason. I think everyone would agree that a Mason and Kenny paradigm was better than anything Mitch brought to the QB room. But that is only with hindsight.
Either way, looking ahead at Wilson and Fields seems much more positive than looking back on any of that.

A great coach does not over play a hurt qb when he has a potentially very good qb just drafted and a good coach does not replace him with a poor qb like the duck and destroy his qbs confidence .Tolin is not a offensively minded coach so some of blame here goes to canada and company. Yes Ben was overr his surgery but was not in the same shape as the Ben we enjoyed seeing play .

 

I think it's all discrimination because he went to a Christian school!!!!!

Nobody is putting him on a pedestal. Just because someone says he wasn't given a fair chance and showed more promise than Pickett or Trubisky doesn't mean he is elite. It means there is a question mark and no one knows he is a bust. His performance at the end of last year certainly showed much more potential than Fields, or what we have in current Russell. Russell Wilson is washed up and isn't any better than Ben in his last year.
